Morning everyone. I'm laid up in bed with a fever and sore throat, I'm 2 weeks from my op come Wednesday and desperate to take something. What can I have? x

Re: so unwell :-(
Sorry your not feeling well. I haven't been told anything about not using medicine before the op but from what I've read on here it looks like only paracetamol is recommended. Pretty sure I had some ibroprofen last week so hope it won't affect me!!!!
Hopefully someone who knows will come on here and answer your question!

Aww lovey! You just lay up in bed and get plenty of rest, as Tink says best thing you can do is try and sleep it off. Not long for you now is it? 16 days wow! Did you decide on a final size? x
Re: so unwell :-(
Why can't people have ibuprofen before their op? :/ I took two last night and my op is on Saturday. Should I not have done?! Worried now xxx

Re: so unwell :-(
I've had paracetamol and an hours nap feeling a little better. I've been drinking some fresh orange juice too. I think ibruprofen can interrupt the healing process. Balamory I've got my pre op next Tuesday, will decide on my final siz e then. Xx

Re: so unwell :-(
Lemon & honey is also good to take, I mix half a squeezed lemon in a glass with a big spoon of honey and a dash of boiling water, at bedtimes I add a dash of brandy (whisky either) and then down it it really feels like it clears away throat nastys xx

Re: so unwell :-(
If you're not getting better by tomorrow hun it might be best to have your GP take a look at you. If you are coming down with a throat infection it would be best to get it treated now and get rid it before your surgery day.
I wouldn't ignore it if its not gone by tomorrow lovely. Do get checked out and if it is an infection do keep your surgeon informed and don't automatically think your surgery would be called off. If it turns out it is an infection and is cleared up with anti-b's there would be no reason why your surgery shouldn't go ahead. This happened to me with a chest infection before my second surgery. I finished my anti-bs just days before my op.
So act fast if you're still not doing too good tomorrow hun.
Hoping its not infected though and just a common cold. Plenty of vitamin C will help. Hot honey and fresh lemon drinks will do you the world of good babe. Xx
