Dressings hanging on by a thread!
Hi girls, I've been so good bit getting them wet but been a bit poorly and got so hot last night I think I sweated them off! Have got an appointment tomorrow as nurse off today so I hope she says they're not necessary anymore rather than re do them and make me go back on Thurs for the appointment I already had booked for post OP. they seemed unfazed when I called and said dressings were almost off so I guess I shouldn't worry... Or should I? Have tried a DIY job with some steritape but I feel all naked!

At 9 days you should be ok providing you've got no weeping pus or blood. Dressings are usually off or changed by around 7-10 days so hopefully providing you're healing well you may just get some micropore to pop over the scars x

Thanks hon that's put my mind at ease. They're completely dry underneath and no sign of blood or weeping. My bra us kind of holding the dressings in place for now I think xxx

Good advise from Mrsball there you also did the right thing in not removing the dressings and doing your DIY job just incase there are any parts of the wound that should remain undisturbed till you see your nurse for your wound check. Xx

Re: Dressings hanging on by a thread!
Hi Lauraloubelle, Im day 11 and that same thing happened to me today, one dressing was hanging off. Have got check up on Friday so as the wound looked clean and dry I bought some similar dressings and micropore and put them on over the old one and completely resealed it all to prevent any infection getting in. Can't wait til Friday for a proper shower and hopefully have dresings off for good. My god dont they make you itch. Good luck xxx

i got my dressings wet when the "waterproof" dressings i was given didn't work! i rang my minor injuries unit and they cleaned and redressed them for me and they gave me some spare dressings! x

Hi Dove how is your recovery going? Are you having odd pains and twinges and still a bit numb? Its interesting to hear how everyone is getting on especially around the same time. Hope all is going well xx

it's so bizarre but i can't feel the bottom of my breasts at all, im super sensitive around my nipples and towards the top of my breasts though. not nice at all and can't wait to have normal sensation again!
yes i get shooting/stabbing pains which can be pretty uncomfortable...i had overs so don't understand what it is, nerve repair maybe?
dressings are off and stitches out, just micro tape on them now
how's your recovery going? are you happy so far? x

Yes me too, completely numb on the bottom half of both boobs. Over the weekend the constant pricking and tingling was getting me down, but today it seems to have gone including that heavy tight feeling. Apart from that its been fine, cant really say it has been painful. I had 325cc overs and quite happy with shape and size so far.
I dont know how long it takes for the nerves to repair themselves completely, thinkeveryones different and can take anything up to 12 months. My problem is because I feel so well in myself and in no pain I do have a tendency to overdo it a bit. But on the whole am pretty pleased. Back to work tomorrow, normality at last!!! xx
