what about when your older??
This may seem like a silly question but my mum keeps asking me the question in the title!! She seems concerned about what will have to happen to my implants when im 50 or 60 and i may have a problem and need them out etc. Are you allowed to just keep them in if no problems occur? or is it inevitable that i will require further surgery at some point? what happens when your really old? thanks xx

Re: what about when your older??
the lifetime of an implant is about 10 - 15 years. If you look at the top of the page there's a link "women can't keep implants for life" you hear of some women keeping them in for long periods with no problems, but the general advice is to get them replaced every 10 years or so xx

I think about this too, but more from the thought/wondering of what will I look like as a 50 year old with implants... Still getting them though, I'll deal with that when I'm 50. x

Re: what about when your older??
We have quite a few 50+ year olds here with implants who look amazing hun. I'm approaching 45 myself and am already planning my next op for my 50th.
When you're young 50 sounds ancient! But when you actually reach that age and still feel 20 something I'm sure by then you'll think nothing of planning further surgery for yourself too babe. X

Re: what about when your older??
oh definetly yeh i understand what your saying! :) i would defo get surgery at that age if i needed it! but what happens when we reach 70 or 80 and surgery isnt really an option? do we just keep them in? would it be ok to do that or would we have to have them out before that age? sorry i dont think my question has come across the right way has it?! lol im fine with having surgery at 40 and 50, but i just want to know if when we reach a very old age of like 70 or 80 what happens? sorry if im sounding a bit silly with all this! i just want to be sure i know everything before i have it done and i want to be able to try and look at the bigger picture and not just for now. Hope i make sense :s thanks! xx

Re: what about when your older??
There are no silly questions here hun and you make perfect sense
Whether you have further surgery at any age will be all down to choice sweetheart. There's no age restrictions placed on having a BA so if you're a 101 and fit and well wanting great knockers then all power to ya! lol
Its YOUR decision hun.
For me, my next surgery... Probably in the next 3 to 5 years will be my last. I'm reducing size again then for a more modest look, this is my personal preference and when those implants need changing, I will opt for an explant. For me personally thinking about my 'pension years' lol. I should imagine my boobs will be the last of my priorities.... But who knows, by the time I reach that time I may change my mind! Haha
Its all about YOU lovely and the decision to replace or to remove will be entirely yours to make. X

Re: what about when your older??
I just read my post back and think it came out wrong. I didn't mean it to sound like that at all, sorry. I just mean that I can't imagine 20+ years into the future, so can't imagine myself, what I would want, how I will age etc.
These days 50 isn't even old at all, I think Carol Vorderman is about 50 and she looks great, and Halle Berry is in her 40s and she looks great. By the time I am 50 I think everyone will have surgery/tattoos etc, it will be the norm.
Cookie I wouldn't even have imagined you were in your 40s, you have the boobs of a 20 year old, they look amazing!!
Sorry again if i offended with my post. x

Bless your heart, you certainly haven't offended me and I very much doubt anyone else here on the forum. It was a perfectly reasonable question to ask hun. X

Re: what about when your older??
Girls I have nursed a couple of ladies in there late 60s/70s with breast implants. They looked pretty prominent as I guess the muscle and fat had started to waste away around there chest area (bearing in mind they were poorly at the time!) but they were still rocking there falses (and I don't mean teeth!) and why the hell not?!

Good on you Julie for getting them done now!
