Sports Bras for after BA
Was just wondering whats the diff between post surgery bra and sports bra, i know its a very silly question but had to ask. SO I am advised to buy two of each?? Where did you girls find the best places to purchase these? I have got one 36DD sports bra from figleaves that rachel09 mentioned but just wondered where all you other girls got yours??

Re: Sports Bras for after BA
I wore a Marena post surgery bra, which was a compression bra so it was quite tight, which i got free with mybreast package. It was so comfy, does up at the front and has a low band so doesnt rub on scars.
A sports bra is just good for support basically whereas a surgical bra is suposedly meant to ease swelling and promote healing. Some good info:

I actually have a spare unworn one which was far too big sent to me but i never sent back for about a 36 back and the cups stretch to accomodate, pm me if you would like wsb, better than sitting in my drawer lol x

Re: Sports Bras for after BA
Initially I just had the Royce Post Surgery bras. I had one in a 36d and one in a 38d I mainly wore the 36d and only the 38d while the 36 was in the wash. They are so comfortable. I then only bought a couple of cheapie Asda sports bras at about 6 weeks, as I was a bit fed up with the Royce ones by then and also I didn't have my post op check with my surgeon until 9 weeks... and at that check he said I was OK to go into under-wired.
I think if you find a comfy bra, then maybe get a couple to see you through while the other is in the wash, but for me that Royce Post Surgery bra ticked all the boxes.

Ive bought a post surgery bra from figleaves and in the sale too at only £8. A sport bra from Peacocks and couple from Asda. Peacocks and Asda v cheap just hope they fit ok after as I bought my normal back size but just went up to a D cup. Maybe I should buy another post surgery bra for when that one's in the wash....more searching! xx

Re: Sports Bras for after BA
I think I went mad bought black and white ones in each size, and bought 3 sizes, 34DD, 36DD and 36D than after the op seemed to be more swollen and bought 2 38D's and my Z bra was a 34E. I had all the sizes covered.

As I previously said... I only had 2 for the first six weeks. They dry really quickly... and those Royce ones are so stretchy and comfy I didn't need anything else. The only reason I bought sports bras at 6 weeks was because I as going away to spend a short holiday with friends in Germany (who don't know I've had a BA) and I just wanted a slightly more "normal" looking bra.

You should be having a post op check up at around 6 weeks, so you may be told you can go straight into "big girl" bras! (I only got the sports bras at 6 weeks because, due to my holiday, I couldn't get to my 6 week check up until 9 weeks post op... and I didn't want to start wearing under-wired until I'd got my surgeon's go-ahead.)
