Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
Morning! I got that doc but didn't get a chance to read through properly. Will wait till I get all the policies from other clinics today and then compare. I will email my Pcc today about it too. I think as long as u have it in writing then is legally binding, wether its the policy, the patient consent or the email. :) hopefully we can compare responses? Who's your Pcc in MYA?

Mr Frati's work is definitely good and the scarring he leaves is virtually nothing x

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
thanks princess that is so good to hear :-) as scarring is a major topic for me! i don't want to go too big so was worried the scars might be not as hidden as with bigger implants maybe.

Don't worry about that :) the scars will be hidden under your crease no matter what implant size you choose. x

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
Saw Mr Khan today too, he's wasn't as bad as some said with me. He measured, gave a good squeeze and went through the sizes and what could be done. Good thing is there's not much difference in size between any of the surgeons suggestions, but I've got 2 who said overs and 2 unders... 2 saying I need a nipple lift, 2 that I don't, though a medically trained Pcc at Harley medical also said I don't... I guess I'll just have to go with whom I think I can trust most, will be a very thought intensive weekend :-S

Hi Blueeyedsoul, did your PCC get back to you about the aftercare questions you had? Also can I ask you wether Mr Frati suggested overs or unders for you?

mr frati suggested unders for me which i thought and would be happy with, as i have so little breast tissue.

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
He's suggested overs as I'd breastfed 2 kids and he said he needed to fill in the space. Was asking you just to double check he didn't suggest overs cause it was his preference.
I called back and here's what I was told: the informed consent is a document provided by Mr Frati as he also works independently so that's what he offers. For us, the aftercare stated in the pationt guide is the one that applies as we go through MYA and our aftercare is with them.
My opinion is that MYA is better as capsular contracture can happen even later down the line so 5 years cover is better, whereas the other revision, e.g. scarring will be noticed within the 3 year period and can be fixed then.

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
well done for calling. that fits with the info i got from my pcc via email when she got back to me this afternoon:
"Sorry for the late reply.
I just wanted to check a few things before getting back to you, so that I could be 100% sure.
The terms and conditions that I have given you in our initial consultation are the guidelines that are to be followed.
I have passed your comments to my regional manager and she is going to look into the documents Dr Frati has given you.
The after care for capsular contracture with MYA is 5 years and you have a life time warranty against rupture with Allergan; within 10 years you will have both implants replaced for free and you will be given £700 towards the cost of surgery. After 10 years you will get both implants for free, but no money given for the cost of surgery.
If you have any further questions please feel free to let me know."
MYA definitely have a good aftercare, as i think most clinics offer 3 years, and MYA has 5 years.. one big reason for me to go with them..
when i asked him about placement, he seemed almost apologetic to have to suggest unders for me, but i said i completely understand and i would be happy with that, and he said it would just give me a better result given that i have hardly any breast tissue.

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
Yeah, so I think we've got their aftercare pretty much covered lol. I've been given very good arguments about unders, I know u defo get a more natural look and less chance of implant turning or tilting. Although it is a longer and more painful healing process, I'd go with it if I'd got a u unanimous recommendation. Have all the surgeons uve seen recommended unders? X

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
lol yeah definitely got that one covered, but it's always good to check and be sure!
yes all 3 surgeons i've seen so far have recommended unders, which i thought from researching anyway before i even saw a surgeon, so i was always prepared for that, and as you say there are advantages to unders.
i don't think the recovery process sounds that much worse from reading the girls's stories here and on other forums.. basically it's going to suck for a few days anyway, but they do say you can go back to work after a week, so i keep telling myself it can't be that bad :)
if you need to fill your breasts after having breastfed, is overs the better option for you?

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
I've had 2 recommend unders and 2 overs, so I guess I'm border line. One of the surgeons who recommended unders didn't explain and I only found out through my notes and the other appeared to prefer this placement generally. to answer your question, that's what Mr Frati suggested :-)

on booking!!!
i'm so jealous, wish i was at that stage! seriously considering going with him, also the hospital is in london which is a plus. seeing mr hassan at the hospital group next week but that would mean travelling to birmingham for the op, not ideal.
do keep me posted on how you get on, i will look out for posts from you on here :)
all the best hun x

Thank you Blueeyed,
I wanted it soon, plus you get a good discount for late spaces, so win-win. Let me know who you choose, is Mr Hassan your last one?

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
i also have a consultation with a mybreast surgeon booked for the week after i see mr hassan, just to have all aspects covered off and some girls here recommended having a consultation with a baaps registered surgeon.
so my last consultation will be 26th march. still have to wait for my work to get back to me re. time off. if i'm unlucky (though that would mean it's good for business) i may have to wait till mid july :/ i really hope not though, june would be so much better!!

Re: Dr Solomons or Dr Frati??
Well it's good you're doing this with plenty of time to think about it, cool down and plan properly. I'm just a very impatient person and need to do things ASAP, I hate that about myself but it also means that when I do something I do it full on. I do hope that you get it done as soon as you want and that everything goes well :-)
