New pain 8 days post op
Hi ladies,
My boobs have been really great, everything has gone smoothly, the pain has been fine and I stopped taking pain relief three days after my op as its nothing I cant cope with, just dull aches and pains - tho my nipples are just starting to really hurt but thats another story!
I'll try and explain where this pain is, if you imagine looking at my left breast from the front, this new pain is at 10 11 and 12 o'clock like on the edge where your breast curves, I know I'm probably being daft but this new pain has come out of nowhere and it feels more like a bruise, it's very tender and only started on Sunday, it hurts even to gently stroke that bit.
I had my dressings taken off and my stitches checked yesterday, the incisions are absolutely amazing! They're just a fine line, not raised at all and you can hardly see them, I was over the moon when I saw them. Anyway I mentioned the new pain to the nurse and she checked it and said its not hot or red or more swollen than the other one but just to keep an eye on it. I go back to see her on Monday to have the ends of my stitches trimmed.
I'm starting to panic a bit cause everything was going so well. Is it normal to develop a new bruise-like pain 5 days after when everything was fine?
Thanks x

Some bruises take time to come out. Also your nerves will be knitting back together and it can be uncomfortable, I get a burning sensation.

You will have a lot of new pains niggles and feelings I think the nurse is right only time to worry so early post op is if the breast I noticeably red and hot to touch I mistook chest pain for bruising where my heart is I panicked a lot and a doctor reassured me the bruising can cause women a lot of worries and strange feelings x x

Thanks for your replies ladies, I'll try not to worry too much and just keep my eye on it. I'm just convinced that something's going to go wrong cause everything has been better than I thought it would up to now.

It may be nerve pain lovely. Sometimes the swelling can trap a nerve and it can become very painful... As the swelling subsides the pain does go away sweetheart, so just hang in there and if it gets any worse or you do see any of the symptoms the nurse suggested then just give your clinic a quick call.
You'll be OK hun. Its not unusual for women to feel pain like this after surgery and from where you're saying your feeling it it does sound plausible that it could be a trapped nerve. Xx

I have the exact same feeling, I can even feel my arm rubbing on it when I walk. Mines my right tho which is the one I can see a nit of bruising on near the scars. I thought it might be because I use that arm more?
It does feel like a big bruise tho x
