ba miles from home dolan park
If I go with THG my BA will be in Bromsgrove which about 4 hours from home! Anyone else had their surgery there and anyone else had to travel that far? I've been offered transport but am in 2 minds wether to get other half to take me, stay and bring me back the next day!! Cant imagine having to make idle chit chat with someone I dont know after surgery!!!

I had my BA there, it was 2 hours ish away from me. My dad drove me there, stayed in a hotel and then drove me back the day after x

You wont care after surgery hun, you'll be in your own little world probably ringing people talking crap like I did or sleeping off the GA, but if you feel better if your partner takes you and stays in a hotel overnight then takes you home then I suggest you do whatever makes you comfy. I travelled 3 hours to my op, I didn't stay over night though. I'd have talked to anyone but the nurses couldn't understand me :-( and I didn't have anyone else in my shared room.

I had mine at Bromsgrove and used the transport. I live about 2 hours away. my partner came with me and stayed over night at a hotel close by. Both the drivers I had were lovely really nice and friendly. They knew when to chat and when the stay quiet, they are so used to seeing diffrent people and dealing with them the day after surgery. They really did look after me and the car was really comfy too. The best bit for me was the fact my partner could relaxe to and if we were late or got stuck in traffic nither if us had to deal with it and his attention was compleatly on me. I felt very spoilt.

Re: ba miles from home dolan park
Hi lovely,
I had a three hour trip to get back from Dolan park to my house, I paid for the driver from then hospital group to take me there pre op and bring me back post.
My mum also came with me, but I took a giant V pillow, and small pillow to go over my new additions, I asked the nurse to discharge me with extra anti sickness tablets & pain relief especially for the journey ... I ended up sleeping the whole journey home but maybe headphones & your iPod/ MP3 player could be a good distraction :)
I actually enjoyed the trip! Considering i had unders & a nipple lift I was very comfortable their cars that they use are soooo comfy, and I found I had no stress with finding the hospital or traffic ect or delays with public transport! All the staff that I meet we're wonderful and I even ended up being put first on the list as I had come such a way!
Good luck lovely. Xxxx

The staff are lovely... I get car sick and wasn't going to pay for the car journey! My mate loved the travel lodge too rooms may still be on offer. £19 bargain! I didn't expect the hospital to be in the middle of a country lane lol
