Re: feeling a bit down
Awww Hun, the boobie blues, it's a natural part of the recovery process with the recovery being such a rollercoaster.
As for your partner going back to work maybe you can ask a friend to help out with the school run for a few days if you don't feel up to it.
I could carry my daughter then 9 months for very short spaces s long as I held and lifted her correctly, elbows close to my body and littlest possible arm movement using my abs and legs to take the weight x
Don't push yourself though and listen to your body and do as much as you feel able x

At this moment in time I couldn't lift him he's almost 1 and a big boy. I could try a walk but it's more of a shuffle at the moment lol
Got at least until Sunday so things could change a lot by then... I hope x

You may find that a week after op is the Time where you turn that corner Hun, as a lot of ladies do.

Oh you poor thing Vicky... C'mere hun
Its best to just take your recovery a day at a time hun. You're just 2 days post-op and sounds like the booby blues have kicked in sweetheart so anything you might have on your mind right now is magnified ten fold!
There's always a solution Vickey... Calling the mums of your child's school friends and asking if they can help out for a week or so? If your hubby is self employed, could he not nip back to do the school run for you? How old is your school age child? Is he old enough to help lift the baby into the car?
Calling the school and saying you've got a bad back and asking if they could offer any help is also an option.. You won't be lying. After sleeping propped up for a while you DO get a bad back lol.
There's always a way hun, so just relax and try and enjoy not doing any of the usual chores because time goes soooo fast and it won't be long before you're back to the mummy grindstone! Xx

Re: feeling a bit down
I have just told one of the girls at school so she might be able to help
Hubby works 50 miles away so poping back for school run is definitely not an option. My daughter is 4 so she can't lift my son either.
Hopefully he can take next week of too then things may look a little better this time next week.
My back is starting to kill, what I would give to be able to stretch my arms up and straighten my back x

Re: feeling a bit down
this was one of my main concerns and i done school run for the first time tuesday pushed the pram in the morning and its only a 3 min walk away i wasnt sore but knackered like id done a marathon lol so i walked ellie round at home time school run bit she was 2 in nov and can walk ok, she has mild cerebal palsy so tires easy and its not a quick walk that 3 min walk to us 25 mins lol
today i done the full school run like dropped mia at school then pushed the pram to nursery which is 20 mins away then walked to school and then had to collect ellie on the way home and let me tell you im sore. so if you can dont do too much
could the wee one walk even to the car then practice getting him to climb up onto the seat an din to the carseat mostly on his own with you helping slightly, is so hard isnt it you dont realise how much you use those chest muscles xx

Re: feeling a bit down
he doesnt even walk yet, he's 1 in a few weeks. i think im going to have to get someone to mind him whilst i pick my daughter up, this is all i can think of, it stop me ifting and pushing the buggy. god haven't even thought about driving either!!
im 4 days post ba and i cant put a tshirt over my head or walk properly (its more of a shuffle lol) or tie my hair up for that matter!!
is this good or bad?

Re: feeling a bit down
at 4 days i looked like hunchback of notredame!! my advise is to stand against a wall and gently straighten that back and get up and walk about the house every so often i done this and by day 7 i was walking normal, its hard but you will end up all stiff, keep on pain killers if needed.
it would be great if you can get someone to sit with the youngest one or take the eldest to school but i know myself this isnt always possible
could your OH go to work after the school run then you just need to worry about getting there to do the pick up.
my worry was bumping the pram up and down the steps xx
