Numbness question Empty Numbness question

Post by Scatty247 31st December 2012, 12:17 pm

So I'm nearly 6 weeks from day one of ba I have had no feeling at all from my incisions up to my nipples and about an inch wide this has shown zero signs of improvement I can feel temperature so if my OH touches the dead part I can slightly feel a coldness from his skin but nothing else. My nurse said I should feel improvements is this all normal?? I'm not worried caus I knew the risks but I'd obviously like a bit of feeling back as it still turns my stomach a bit in shower washing something that's numb does that sound weird? Lol xx

Its normal Scatty yes

I had no feeling in my lefty up until just before a year post-op and then it came back for me. Not all sensation if I'm honest, I can't feel light touch at all, but I can feel a pinch and it reacts to to temperature, so not too bad.

At 6 weeks post-op though its very normal to still have some numbness, it can take a year or more for all sensation to return so you're early days yet babe. Xx

Ooooo you're definitely going to need to get that sorted. When the new tooth ready? Don't forget what my daughter said about shaving off the contact point. Xx

I've got a huge day the 10th I got appointment with ps to hopefully get the all clear at dinner time then at 5pm I've got dentist to have my new veneer put on so I think ill need an early night after that!! I've worked out that I push my bottom teeth against the back of my front tooth with all my strength so ill have to mention it when I go in, it explains why my back teeth broke so much it's from the constant grinding and clenching I read on a site that's why they snap length ways! Numbness question Empty Re: Numbness question

Post by MarieMc85 31st December 2012, 1:27 pm

Hi,

I had all feeling in my left boob straight away, but it took a good six months or so to get the feeling back in my right.

Even now, (3.5 years post op) I don't have full sensation in the right and generally only the left nipple goes hard when i'm cold!

It's also weird when I get an itch in my right boob as I can feel the sensation, but scratching it just feels numb if that makes sense? It is very odd and a bit freaky, but hey, I have great boobs so can't complain too much Numbness question 199385
