3 month check-up today... :(
Hi ladies!
Hope you're all well and still loving your boobies! Not been posting for a while, trying to ween myself off things boobs related...just for my sanity!
Went to see Mr Borghini at Transform in Nottingham today for my 3 month check-up. I honestly feel from what some of you say on here about the level of care and advice after that I have been short-changed!
He was his usual smiley self but just so vague and worst of all....get this... said.... NO WIRED BRAS.... EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?!?!!?
He said my boobs looked great, scars etc, prodded them roughly together which hurt and that was that! I prompted about bras and he just said "Why would you want to wear wired bras, you don't need them now!" ? so I was like, I feel I am not getting what I want out or this looks wise and thought today would be bra day... He said I could get a wired bra and take the wire out! Seriously!!!
Then again as he was kind of ushering me out of his room I said again, when can I wear a bra and he said I really don't need to and if I do I could damage my implants! I was so shocked and didn't know what to say... this isn't what I wanted from today or expected for the future! Honestly thought today would be my happy day Again, I asked when would the scarring colour go lighter and all he said was "The scars are perfect"...yeah, I didn't ask that!!! Then said if I needed to wear one for a party etc I could but no more than that!
LADIES please help! Has anyone EVER heard of this!? So, it sounds like I am doomed for a life of granny bras and sports bras!?!??!?! He wants to see me again either at 6 months or in 6 months...wasn't too clear!
So upset, dunno what to do! I don't know weather to ask someone else's advice there but then thought another surgeon isn't going to comment on someone else work.
Wish I had gone with another surgeon, I knew I rushed into it! Only went with him as I wanted it after years of waiting....maybe should have wiated a little longer and seen a few surgeons!
So sad

Also, I felt like a transaction and nothing more...he couldn't get rid of me fast enough and when I left just got another girl in straight away and didn't say bye to me! Seriously not happy.

Hey there boobie bud, thought I'd comment to give you a big
Sound like an awful experience, I feel for you.
In no expert, but would say the no wires thing is a bit strange!
Maybe you should speak with someone else at Transform, the aftercare you've received isn't acceptable, especially as he left you unclear on so many things.

Wow, I can see how you would be so upset :(. Doesn't even seem like he really cared or listened at all to what you were asking him. I'm so surprised that he said you couldn't wear wired bras anymore as I've never heard of that being a problem after proper healing time. He never even really gave you a proper explanation as to why you can't. I'd be so confused right now. So sorry to hear you're going through all of this. Maybe you could get a second opinion from another surgeon? I'm not sure how that would work though? Hopefully this gets sorted out for you hun

Hiya hun. Been so busy not had time to post in ages but couldn't read this and not reply.
Sorry ur appointment wasn't what you expected but as you know we had the same surgeon and he said pretty much the same thing to me but sounds like he worded it a bit better! So I'll tell you how it went with me.
I saw the nurse before i saw him and she was happy with everything. She said i was ok to wear bras but to ease myself into wired bras a few hours at a time until im comfortable wearing one all day. She then gave me a heads up on what Mr B would say. She said he would advise me to only wear wired bras for special occasions because he is not a fan of wired bras but not just wired bras for women with implants wired bras in general - even for women without implants. And that's exact what he said. He said he didn't think any woman should wear a wired bra because they can affect your lymph glands (or whatever they're called?!) and that if i wanted to i could start wearing them but he is not keen on them and thinks they should be for now and again and not everyday. He didn't say that i couldn't wear wires just couldn't see why i would want to.
Hope that helps babe. I would take the fact that he said you can wear them for special occasions as the go ahead to wear them otherwise he wouldn't have even allowed that if he thought you weren't healed enough.
Did you see a nurse too? What did she say? Or could you make an appointment to see your nurse to put your mind at ease? Xxx

Re: 3 month check-up today... :(
I have heard of some surgeons suggesting their patients don't wear wires 'ever' yes, zebra.
I've never heard that wires that can cause actual damage to an implant though lol... I have heard myths though that the wires can cut off blood circulation or damage lymph nodes and the link to causing cancer
See HERE
I know that wearing bras whilst 'still healing' can set back your healing because they lift and push up your boobs and possibly set back the adhering to the breast pocket or dislodge it in the early healing, or the friction of the worse causing infection, opening up wounds possibly making larger scars etc... But never actual damage to an implant
I can't tell you to ignore your surgeon lovely, but I would suggest you make an appointment to see him again. Explain to him that you felt very rushed in your consultation and didn't feel satisfied that you had asked the questions you needed to. Then ask him if he has evidence to support his suggestion that you don't wear wires because they would damage your implants.
There is no such evidence hun.... When he can't then ask if he requests you don't wear a wired bra because its his personal preference... If he says yes, then ask, so if its just preference... It would then be your choice whether or not you wanted to wear a wired bra wouldn't it? Given that there would be nothing to support any claims that wires would do the implants any harm...
It's awful how you were treated zebra many women are cramming to get their 'Christmas boobs' right now and the clinics are heaving! So surgeon in the larger commercial clinics are under pressure to see as many women as they can.
But you stay firmly seated babe and refuse to move until 'you' feel you're satisfied that your questions have been answered.
Simply saying you can't wear a wired bra when you clearly want to with nothing to support your reasoning isn't fair to you hun, so he should at the very least explain to you why. Xxx.

Re: 3 month check-up today... :(
Thanks for the replies ladies, I knew coming on here would put me at ease! BIG hugs to you all
Queenyk I feel so much better after reading what you wrote! I was hoping you would reply!!! It's odd that the nurse gave you the heads up and I find it very odd that just because he personally doesn't like wires he shouldn't pass that onto all his patients! How many women does he say this too that take that as gospel... it's not fair really making you think you will damage yourself! Thanks so much for replying do really feel better!
I didn't see a nurse before either which was odd... I really do think my experience has been so different to many others...not really had much support from them. I just went straight in to Mr B...was out within minutes thinking yet another un-satisfactory experience :(
Thank you as always Cookie! Think I will ring them in the week and see if I can get an appointment back... annoyingly he doesn't seem to be about much, I remember seeing the calender for Dec when I booked it on my 6 weeks check and he was only there 2 times in Dec!!
You know how you mentioned about dislodging the pocket....been a bit worried that sleeping on my side now will do that or cause damage? Do you think it's OK to sleep on your side??
Thank you for the advice esp about going back and questioning if it is just his preference...think that'll work!
Do you think I would be ok to ease myself into bras?
Thanks again everyone....amazing ladies

Your boobs aren't being 'forced' into an unnatural positioning when you're lying on your side babe, so don't worry about that. It's fine.

That's OK hun. Hopefully he'll give more of his time this time to satisfy the questions you want to ask of him
Do you think I would be ok to ease myself into bras?
I think you already know the answer to that....lol
It's not for me or anybody else here to tell you its OK gorgeous.
Maybe call the clinic and discuss your concerns with them as well lovely. Xx

Re: 3 month check-up today... :(
I think a surgeons preference for wearing non wires or not wearing wires should be left at just that HIS preference. There's no evidence to support that wearing wires is going to affect your implants after recovery.
As cookie and others have suggested book another appointment with him or speak to the clinic nurse about your concerns Hun. You shouldn't be made to feel like just another customer on a conveyer belt!
I hope you get it sorted sweet x

Aww so sorry Hun what an awful experience transform aftercare from what I am gathering is pretty poor nationwide from my own to many I have read, I think you need to make sure you stand your ground and push for a second appointment cause you need more answers easier said than done I know they make you feel like you are wasting THEIR time don't they so you end up saying everything's good, rushing out and trying to get all the answers they left you without on here! The mods and admin on here deserve half their wage at transform lol xxxx big hugs xxx

Big hug Zebra. Not a nice experience and no clear answers. I would definitely express your concerns with Transform, and demand to see him again or see another professional for an opinion xxx xxxx

Hey Zebra,
I'm shocked at this!! The fact that your surgeon would say you don't need bras??? Fake boobies are still heavy and you still need to wear bras or eventually they will become saggy, and stretch out your skin, just like real boobies!
DEFINITELY call the clinic and ask to have a follow-up with a different surgeon. As for using a different surgeon for the op, I wouldn't worry, your avi looks wonderful.
