Back to crying in the dressing room....
Just feel awful today, went to try and get a nice push up bra/balconnete as I am going to a fancy dress party next week (its a letter N theme so going as Nicky Minaj!) and nothing looked nice at all. Boobs are like rocks, they have softened loads since my op but the bra does nothing for them at all and when I do put a bra on all that happens is that I get major tenting giving me a uniboob look . I had tenting immediately post op and it went down by about 4 weeks but when I put a bra on its back big time and I cant get a good cleavage or that 'just augmented' look that I hoped I would get with a wired bra, they just look exactly as they do out of a bra but with the skin on my cleavage raised to hell! I am feeling really down about this. I am so happy with my new boobs but I'm not seeing what I hoped I would in a bra. I have rippling in cleavage on the left boob (cant see it at all but I can feel it) and I also have a little bit of redundant skin at the base of the left but Mrs Kat has assurred me that this will be removed under local anaesthetic and its a simple procedure but even these things that dont bother me have got me down today. I'm 9 weeks post op now and I expected them to be soft by now.... do you think they will soften more so that a bra looks good on me or will I be stuck like this???

Awwww no 5stone! You always seem so positive about your boobies! But I know what you mean!!! I am just over 2 months PO and they don't seem very soft yet, they don't really like being put in a bra. When I tried on some bras last week I to was soooooo upset/disappointed with the look...they looked not much different! Not too sure what uniboob is?
Would be great for some ladies with BA boobs older than ours to come on here and put your mind at rest!
PS they look great on your avi, I can't push mine together that much lol

Hunny, don't be sad... At 9 weeks some ladies still have to wear sports bras! Your boobs won't be soft till months to come. Even though they softening they will continue to do so for months even up to a year to have. A 'natural' feel.
I think it's trial and error to find a bra, trying on lots and finding the ones that do your boobs justice!
As your a 30g I can recommend Freya deco plunge bra it gives your boobs the most amazing shape under clothes and its smooth so no lumpy lace!
Sometimes also because changing room lights and mirrors arnt the best, and because you're looking at them yourself they may look different to how other people see them , take a photo and it can change the way you lok at them. If that makes sense. !
They will soften loads more and having the right bra and clothes they will look amazing xx

Uniboob is a common term for symmastia where it looks like 1 giant boob cos the cleavage isnt defined. I am exagerrating a bit cos its not proper symmastia as my implants are still in the pockets but the skin in my cleavage is lifted

Re: Back to crying in the dressing room....
Don't worry hun, at just 9 weeks post-op youre VERY early in your healing still
Your healing is going to take months hun! And I'm not talking a couple of months, I'm talking 6 to 12 before you see your final results.
I too had raised skin over the sternum and I couldn't wear a bra for too long because of the discomfort caused, but it does get better over time. Mine did tak a very long time to settle. I'm not saying yours will be as long but you should be prepared for the skin to take about 6-8 months at the most before it settles... But it could settle for you as soon as tomorrow!!!!! Who knows lovely. But what I'm trying to say is that it's normal. It's not always going to be that way.
I don't think any of us can really prepare for the healing time after having a BA, many of us put a time span on the 6-12 week all clear, but healing actually goes on wayyyyyyyyyy beyond that hun.
My boobs didn't soften up till 6 months post-op, I had some softening before that and did think that was how it was going to be, but they go on to soften to an almost natural feel and will gain natural movement with it, filling your bra will a delicious wobble of a natural breast, it's amazing how different they do look and feel once you get beyond that six month mark, so don't be down hun. We've all seen pictures of you and look amazing. You go out and rock that party hun 'cos all eyes will definitely be on YOU! Xxx

Re: Back to crying in the dressing room....
Thanks Cookie, I just found an older post of your regarding tenting which settled my mind. As you said we expect 6-12 weeks to be the time that everything has healed and I guess as mine havent really changed for the last few weeks (apart from the scars which have changed loads) I was convinced all the main internal healing was done. I now feel a bit better that hopefully things will improve and I'll get softer boobs! I think that is the main problem at the moment, the are too firm to be moulded into a bra so its just pushing the skin up in my cleavage! I also keep forgetting that I polyurethane implants and I just got out my post op leaflet on them and it says they take 45-60 to START to soften and I'm out day 60 something now so I guess the softening has only just begun!

Re: Back to crying in the dressing room....
Thanks hun. I am still a bit down as I have had my confidence shaken as it brought back all those old feelings of hating my body but I am hopefull now and I'm sure I'll be back to loving them by the end of the day!!

Re: Back to crying in the dressing room....
Aw hun, the healing time is the most frustrating, when we get the all clear for bras we're so excited and then we have the most frustrating time waiting for them to fit properly. Unfortunately good cleavage takes time, but it's totally worth the wait.
