Awful news
The week just gets worse!! I'm due for ba on THURS and not only did we all come down with the new norovirus Saturday, but my 13 month old still has runs plus today I got my smear result back from docs with abnormal result I need a colonoscopy or whatever it's called. I'm due for preop blood tests tomorrow should I tell them? So worried I feel like everything happening is a sign it shouldn't go ahead

Sorry to hear you're having a bad week :(
i wouldn't take these things as a sign though, not sure about telling them tomorrow but one of the other girls will maybe be able to give you some advice on that, xxx

Re: Awful news
I would tell them about the illness you have had. I don't think you have to tell them about the abnormal cells as these are just changes to the cell structure in your cervix, rather than anything that could cause you an infection. But it doesn't hurt to tell them. They wont cancel your BA over it. The colposcopy is a bit like a smear test. Dont worry they are simple. You'll be fine. They will make sure they keep a good eye on you, just make sure you always go to your check ups on time. You must never miss one.

I would tell them . I don't think that will interfere, but I would tell them. Or ring your GP and have a chat, because they may want a letter from your GP? So I would tell them.

Re: Awful news
And that is quite common, sometimes abnormalities can arise and after a re smear it's fine x try not to worry too much. Big hug, it's been a stressful week for you x

Re: Awful news
I had a colposcopy (spelling:???) and it was not the most fun, but it's like the girls say, it's very routine procedure. You will be fine hunni.
Also, I know what you mean, it may seem like bad news on top of bad, but as long as the PS is ok with the surgery after your illness, I'd go ahead, I personally feel if you want it, no time like the present!!
good luck hunni

Hope you still get to go ahead hun, can't see the colposcopy should be a problem.. As the others have said its a very simple procedure.

Re: Awful news
You could always postpone your ba if you wanted to couldn't you? Sounds like you have got a lot to think about and if you think there's to much happening that you want to get sorted out before you have your BA you can talk to your surgeon about putting it back a little bit till things calm down I'm sure they won't mind under the circumstances. Relly hope everything is ok for you
