A message from cookie

Cookie has had her op and she's ok. She's had a heamatoma after her op and had to go back down to theatre. She's out now though and is being well looked after, her BP is a bit low so they're keeping an extra special eye on her. She just wanted me to tell you all how she got on and that she's doing ok. I know she would have loved to tell you herself, but her phone doesn't work with this site.

It's internal bleeding hun, it can happen after surgery, cookie had swelling caused by the heamatoma and had to go back into surgery to stop the bleeding. She's ok now but they are keeping a watchful eye on her now. Hopefully she's getting lots of rest now.

Oh no what a shame, poor Cookie. Thats good they have it under control now tho and are watching her carefully. Glad she is doing okay now xxxxxx

Hi girls. Just a quick hello

For what started out as as a small scar revision. It then turned into a lollipop lift, I was in recovery and felt great at first! No sickness, just pretty sleepy still. I remember hearing someone saying how sleepy I was but I was so in and out of it. Finally woke in my room but had to have oxygen as my sats were very low, my boob was really hurting but I kept falling asleep, woke up about half hour later and was in awful pain, my boob had really swelled and was rock hard. Called the nurse who sent for Mr Persico straight away. He was amazing and put me so at ease, the anaesthetist too was fantastic. I really couldn't have asked for better care along with my nurse Gillian. Fantastic team. I had to go back into theatre because I had a heamatoma, before I knew it I was back in my room, sats were still very low so they moved me to another room. It was HUGE and I was like a little dot in the bed in the corner lol. But I was really well taken care of I have to say. Staff, surgeon and anaesthetic we all superb. Both surgeon and anaesthetist came back and had a chat with me later. The anaesthetist was supposed to be going home but said he'd stay an hour later just to be sure I was ok aw[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Woke up this morning and my boob was all swollen again! Not as bad as last night but its pretty big still. The nurse came and checked it out and said she was concerned too, so I was again nil by mouth until Mr Persico could take a look. By this time I was very worried, good thing was sats were better though, so I put down to 20% oxygen and had had gone up to 94% surgeon came round and took a look, said my boob was soft but very bruised and although very swollen, it was nothing to worry about - PHEW! So I'm with my sister now. I'm under strict instruction to rest and rest I shall do. But just wanted you all to know that all has gone well and I'm a bit sore but doing well.



Oh! And check out the sexy 'black' surgical stockings I had to wear! Hubby was made up!
