Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
I hope you feel reassured from your PS when you see them and come up with a solution or that you can learn to live with it ? I too am stressing over rippling so I know how it can make you feel. I'm still in the early stages (10 days post op) but I've got quite bad rippling in my cleavage both sides, its really bumpy and dented. Its really getting me down even though I know I've got a lot of healing to do etc etc I don't think this will go away, none of my friends have had this.
I am going to see my PS on Tuesday to get his advice and see if there is anything I can do to help but I've got a horrid feeling that they won't go away. Sometimes during the day they seem to lessen but they make my cleavage wonky and I was in tears last night cos of it.
I will be keeping an eye out to see how you get on and I truly hope it works out for you.
Good luck
Anna

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Just wanted to update really cos theyre are a couple other girls with this issue.
My PS basically said yesterday that rippling was inevitable for me due to my poor skin intregrity and lack of tissue. We discussed at length change of profile, placement and size of implant but he said I would personally always have a good chance of rippling even with these changes. The only thing I didnt discuss was the fact that if this had been stressed to me at my consult I may have had second thoughts but I will never know. Tbh I may have chanced it anyway because I was so excited at the prospect of my new boobs I was kinda ignoring any negative stuff discussed (that wont happen to me attitude) at the time.
Therefore I dont want to push for a re-op at this time especially if it meant I would still have a high chance of a similar outcome. I think my boobs and me will come to an agreement they will stay looking good in my bras/bikinis and I will avoid looking/leaning over in front of my bedroom mirror when Im in the nack.
I hope you other girlies come to an agreement with your PS whether it be a re-op or whatever and you are happy with the outcome.
Chew my ear off any time anyone, I am more than happy to listen. Great big to everyone here. This site has kept me sane at times.
xx

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Hi Anne
I went to see my PS on tuesday about my rippling, he just basically said that it is something that can happen and that I would have been told about in my consultations .. I wasn't actually! but it was probably in one of the booklets. He was very matter of fact and held up an implant and said look, it ripples, not much you can do about it !! I said can I do anything to make it better and he said no. I personally feel that because my implants are low profile they are really wide and thats what is causing it, he never actually measured my boobs so this is likely. I realise that I am going to have to live with it, unless it gets worse when they settle more I am just going to have to try and ignore it.
Still slightly gutted but have to keep reminding myself that they are a LOT better than they were before .. lumps n all

I'm sorry, surely he would have told you about this before you went a head with it, I would have also thought he would have chosen the best implant to achieve the look you want with minimual chance of them rippling. I am surprised he didnt measure you though.

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
I had the consultation with the care co-ordinator who tells you all about it and then the consult with PS was very short and sweet and thats when he told me what size I could have.
When I went back to discuss profiles etc with him as I was confused is when he said I could go upto 350 if I wanted as both would fit. So I did. Now I feel that the 350 was obviously too wide as otherwise there wouldn't be so much rippling. I know that I wasn't told about it as when I saw my care co-ordinator after seeing PS the other day .. she said "oh, I've not seen it before, what did he say caused it" .. so I know I wasn't told about it as she was the one telling me the pros and cons".
He didn't measure me as I had a lot of boob to start with so I guess he knew that low profiles were my only option, who knows but he never once got a tape measure out and I saw him 2 times pre-surgery. He did measure my friends that had him though ... very wierd. Nevermind .. nothing I can do about it now they are in me .. just hope and pray they don't get worse x

I will pray for you that they dont get any worse and you learn to love them

I agree with JoanneR85!! Why are surgeons consulting without the neccessary discussions and needed measurements.?? How many of us knew what is needed pre-op? Hopefully all the pre-op girls ensure these pros and cons are discussed and understood fully.
I am sorry Annie that you are really no further forward and come to terms with what you have. Maybe you will decide to meet again to discuss a re-op. Thinking of you xx It is very kind of you to share and help othersxx
Anabov!!! You too xx

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Its a good thing for Pre-op to be aware of, you do need to discuss and really consider all the pros and cons before going a head. Surgoens can't give you absolutely perfect breasts but they can give you a good result. My first consultation with a surgeon from Transform didnt discuss pros/cons and didnt even take the opportunity to measure me which really put me off, how can a surgeon determine the right implant without measuring you first. My second consultation with surgeon from MYA discussed the pros/cons and did warn me that I would get some rippling, and he measured me using a caliper. I assume not all surgeons use these to measure prospective patients.

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Im pleased this has created awareness of this situation.
Rippling was mentioned during the consent process but it certainly wasnt stressed that I could be more prone to it than others, maybe its an unknown entity at that point to be fair.
Annabov so sorry you feel this way too but we shall both stay positive, (you look fab in your pic btw !!) if you ever fancy a moan Im here. Im the opposite as I had high profiles and think perhaps lower may have been better but who knows?!
Its definitively something to discuss in detail with PS at consult - pre-op girls.
