Rippling..... so gutted..
Sorry girls for this miserable post but I am really fed up tonight. You see I have always had palpable ripples in my boobs since the swelling went down and visible ones just on one breast in certain lights and was just sort of putting up with it. However this morning I caught sight of myself in the mirror and the ripples are now really visble all over both breasts. They seem to have dropped more which is ok but in the process I can really see all these waves and ridges and also my areolas seem paler today ??
Im so upset, I had this BA not because of their small size as such but because I saw them as ugly now I just have got bigger, uglier ones. I am gutted.
Can anything be done? The surgeon was aware of this potential problem because he said I had very thin skin so recommended implants on the smallish side. Can it improve? I cant even see how a re-op could help if its my poor skin integrity that is the problem.
Im almost regretting ever having this done as Im just not happy with them at all. Does anyone here have this or know anyone who has experienced this and if and how it was resolved?
Thanks for listening...
xx

Oh Anne, don't feel sad.
I have thin skin too, so I'm pretty sure as I get older I'll get ripples too. Have you spoken to your PS about it at all?

Aw Anne!! So sorry you are feeling down sending you hugs
Have you thought about talking with your P.S. for some advice? It would at least help to know if he can help and share your concerns. Thinking of you!! xxxxxxxx

Hi, I too have very thin skin so my surgeon decided on partial unders- I know its a massive ordeal but maybe the surgeon would be willing to change the placement of your implants??
Good luck and take care (keeping my fingers crossed for an easier solution for you) xx

I agree, and maybe change to a moderate profile too, as HPs stick out more they stretch the skin out more, this would minimise any rippling as HP + overs can cause the most rippling in thin-skinned women. This would also mean you could go down a bit in size hun, which i know you wouldn't mind. Hope you sort it out xmcguinness1 wrote:Hi, I too have very thin skin so my surgeon decided on partial unders- I know its a massive ordeal but maybe the surgeon would be willing to change the placement of your implants??
Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Just an update. I spoke with a nurse at the clinic just now. My PS is away - I knew this as I had my original check up booked for yesterday but it was cancelled - she was nice but not that helpful. In fairness there is only so much the nurses can say or do. She said wear a supportive bra (which I do always have day and night) and I'll have to wait til my checkup to see the PS . She made lots of nioses about how rippling was normal and I would have been told at the consultation etc I feel Im going to be fobbed off. My skin integrity is poor, he did voice concerns at the time about that but he never actually said the words 'rippling' and completely gave me the impression that if I chose a smallish implant I would have a good outcome. Maybe it wil improve who knows? *sigh* all this worrying has tired me out! Just waiting now I guess.

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
sooo sorry that you're not happy honey. Maybe try what roxy suggested and try the collagen cream.....I was unhappy about my boobs (purely coz i thought they were dropping and saw some stretch marks) so i went to marks and spencers and bought a really really supported non wired bra....since wearing that day and night my boobs have stayed pert, round and kept their fullness and no sign of the stretch marks.....I know you're in a different position but u never know what a good support bra can do- i thought my sports bra was ok but realise now it was to big on the shoulders for me and so these £12 support bras are much better for me.
I always felt better (before and after boobiedom) when i was in a well fitted bra.
let me know how it goes xx

Just sending you big hugs Anne Once you meet with P.S. and explain how you feel and that some issues were not explained to you, he may well have a positive way forward to help. Do not let them fob you off...keep a calm and confident approach. xxxxxx

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Hi Anne, hope it goes ok when you see your surgeon, remember you paid a lot of money so don't let him fob you off without explaining any other alternative options if they might help.
By the way I thought your boobs looked lovely in your pics (not too big at all!) and couldn't see any sign of rippling - I know it is obvious to you but when you're up so close to them and inspecting them in such detail things can sometimes seem a bit more obvious if u know what I mean (tho I do agree u should def discuss it with your surgeon as it is bothering you).
Let us know how you get on

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Aw thanks LMT...
After having a chat with a lovely girl here I realised I'd stopped massaging my boobs maybe a few weeks ago, just cos I got out of the habit, and I then thought maybe thats why the rippling is more apparent. So I've just massaged them like mad and they're killing me now! lol
One good thing though, it flashed through my mind at one low point 'I'll just get them taken out' but then realised I really loved them now and the size is spot on.
So maybe this is just another part of this crazy BA journey I'm on? Up shot is massage, massage.
Thanks everyone dont know what I'd do without you all. You're all fab-boobie-lous.

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Aw !!! The difference a day and a girlie chat makes
You truly have a good result, I remember your pics and I honestly think your boobs look perfect and very natural on your frame..I seen to sign of rippling..I would have said!!! But, as we all know we pay soo much more attention to them than before....makes you find things with crazy thinking sometimes!! So, I think the massage could well do the trick and help the muscles and tissue relax and settle. Soo glad you are feeling better
Happy massaging..... you could always employ some help

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
try not too worry too much and carry on with your massage, you are still quite early days yet as they do say it takes a full 12 months to settle properly and dont forget your skin will keep renewing itself, i think we do scrutinise our own boobs far too much, sending you a hug

Hey annefinackapan
How are they now?
Ive got rippling and feel like i was fobbed off yesterday
(you need to massage, it could be that you've lost weight, it still has a little more to drop)
I hope they dont stay like this :(

Hi Anne, do you have overs? If its really apparent maybe you could opt for unders. It might help taking some pictures and seeing what other girls think because we can be really harsh on ourselves sometimes. xx

Re: Rippling..... so gutted..
Thanks girls... I see my PS on monday tbh Im really trying not to think about it too much. They look lovely in a bra and bikini and standing up straight naked its not too apparent but undressed I can really see rippling on the top, cleavage.
Stef is that what they told you weight, massage etc? Are you seeing your PS again about it ? So hope you get sorted on way or other.
I feel I might get fobbed but Ive actually put 7lbs on since BA and Im massaging all the time so not much else thay can suggest is there? I suppose I had such crappy thin skin and little tissue to begin with maybe this is the best result anyone couldve done we'll see. Im kinda scared of unders because of the double bubble issue.
Ta for posting again so lovely to have this support.
