Open incision
Hi ladies
I noticed my incision under my left breast felt a little
different so I got my other half to get under there with the light on his phone
and we noticed that the incision was open! It looks like a paper cut and red in the middle. I also noticed there was a little bit of crusty stuff around it so
it must have been leaking at some point. I started getting visions of those
horror stories you hear about when the implant starts falling through the
incision! I called my clinic but had a feeling it wouldn’t be open on a Sunday
so I called the 24 hour Transform hotline. The doctor I spoke to was really
nice and really put my mind at ease. He said it sounds like it’s just the top
layer of skin that hasn’t healed properly and that it happens to about a third
of patients. He said I should only worry if I see blood and that there was no
chance of the implant falling out or anything like that. He has made me an
appointment to see my nurse tomorrow so they can re-dress it and maybe give me anti-biotics as caution. That hotline is a God send! It’s a 24 hour mobile that the doctors have and if I hadn’t spoken to anyone I would’ve been sitting here worrying until tomorrow.
I’ve been told to put gauze over it until tomorrow but I’ll let you all know how it goes with the nurse. I’m just going to take it really
easy today so it doesn’t open any further. Has anyone else had this happen? The doctor said it shouldn’t affect the look of my scar once I‘m all healed
properly.

Re: Open incision
That's good that you could call the hotline and they put your mind at ease.
I had this problem with one of my incisions. There was no infection, it just didn't heal so well. I saw the nurse more regularly and they gave me extra dressings so I could change it everyday. The scar on that side is slightly wider but they are so pale you can hardly see them anyway! Xx

Glad you had some reassurance Queeny. Let us know how you get on tomorrow too won't you lovely. Xx
Re: Open incision
Well I saw the nurse today and all is well The opening had actually started to seal itself back together and had dried out so she said it was fine. She said I just need to be careful with stretching and try not to lift my boob up too much trying to peep at it and allow it to heal properly.
She was really pleased with how they are dropping and how the other incision is healing so good times all round xx

Re: Open incision
Thanks chick. Looks like that scar might be a bit wider like you said but i tend to scar really well anyway so that doesn't bother me. as long as the implant doesn't fall out! Lol x

Re: Open incision
Aww I'm really pleased for you! The positions of the scars are such that people won't see them anyway. No one has ever said anything about one scar being wider than the other, it's just I know it is. My implants are still in nearly 4 years down the line so I'm sure yours will stay in too lol xx
