incisions open!
Help please, I have taken my steri strips as I am 2 weeks po tomorrow and 2 sections of my incisions are not sealed! They are about half a cm each and almost looks like when you get a paper cut and it flaps about I am going to call the nurse at my gp's in the morning to see if I can see them but should I call MyBreast to? I was due my first shower tomorrow should I hold off on that to

Re: incisions open!
I would give mybreast a call hun, and yes hold off on the shower until they've been looked at. Dont panic it takes a few weeks for incisions to heal sometimes.
Re: incisions open!
aww sorry to hear that hunny, yes id give mybreast a call and the local nurse just to get an appointment for tomorrow. i would hold off having a shower till youve seen someone just incase, as thats the last thing you want is to get an infection or water in wound. sending hugs

Re: incisions open!
Definitely don't get your incisions wet lovely until you've spoken to the clinic.
Do you have any steri-strips there with you to replace them? or any micropore tape that you could cut into strips and apply?
I'm sure you're gonna be just fine hun, so don't worry, all's that will be needed is to have the strips reapplied until the incisions have a little more time to knit together and 'possibly' you'll have to put off that shower for a few days.. but maybe not. I suspect you'll be just fine though lovely. xx

Re: incisions open!
Thanks girls, I have steri strips cookie. I got Huuby to put some on for me as I thought it might keep it all sealed and hopefully sterile until I see someone. Thanks for the reassurance and I will definatly hold off on the shower xx

Re: incisions open!
Ahhh you'll be all good then babe, it'll only be the top layers of skin that won't have closed. But it's best to get to some reassurance anyway xx
Re: incisions open!
Seen the nurse this morning and she has steri stripped the lefty back up and told me to keep dry until Wednesday and then seeing me again. No shower for me but on the up side they are looking fab As you said Cookie she confirmed it's just the top layer thats hasn't quite closed yet but it will do soon hopefully
I had a nightmare literally last night and bashed into my Huuby on the right side and right breast on the side went hard but nurse said she will have a look at it again on Wednesday so I'm hoping that will be ok to - what am I like. I do want things to be simple honest

Glad it's ok lovely. Mine were similar, I had a little hole on the right. Just needed a bit of extra time to heal.

Re: incisions open!
Thanks Kay, I am 2 weeks 1 day po and I am sooooo bored hun. I just want to go out for a walk or something but I'm off sick from work and know I am meant to rest but I am going stir crazy! When I do walk about I am mega dizzy within a few minutes. I want this week to go quickly so I can start getting back to normal even though I am nervous about going back to work next week as I don't quite know how much I can do I don't want them getting cross with me xx

Re: incisions open!
I have low blood pressure and i'm anaemic hun so it's part of that. I am going back to the doctors to get blood results this week and have bp checked again so I will be bending her ear then as it's driving me nuts. I have been on iron for 2 weeks so I thought it would have picked up by now!
