Nursey Tomorrow & Asda bra's
Seeing the nurse tomorrow , will be 8 days post op. Probably sound thick , but will all tapes be removed? What do they look at? is it just to check stitches? And are Asda sports bra's any good? My mum just gone to get me one x thanks

More often than not the tapes are all removed after your first wound check. There may be some parts that need the steri strips left own for just a little while longer and you may need to change those for a week or two yourself. Some though may take a little longer to heal and will have fresh dressings reapplied and requested to return maybe a week later babe.
I'm personally not a fan of Asda sportsbras. I think high impact bras offer your new boobs the best support throughout your recovery and they're the most recommended by surgeons too. But there are some ladies that like them sweetie. X

Hi Hun, yes your dressings should be removed so they can chek how your scars are healing they may well as cookie said leave steristips on, however if it all looks ok you maybe just get some microporous tape on the wounds. Every surgeons nurse has a different way of doing things.
But hopefully all should be ok.
If you want to look at them don't be alarmed they maybe quite dark, red as they're still quite new at 8 days post op. you will probably be surprised at just how small they are! Eventually though they will fade to 'nothing' hunny x

Oh and as for asda bras, for me personally I don't rate them. You really need a high impact one to keep them I place! I didn't find they offered much support ( I tried them through my pregnancy!) and uncomftBle.
But thats my personal opinion of them xx

I had the big dressings removed but the micropore remained on for 3 weeks and then it was replaces with more micropore tape. I need to keep my scars covered for 3 months changing the tape myself every 3 weeks but I have a lot more scars cos of the uplift!!

If you're suffering from the tightness around your ribs from the band you're wearing now hun, a quick fix is to get one of your old bras and cut the hook bit off to use as an expander, you may need to just stitch it on to your sportsbra you're wearing. Xx

Thanks Cookie, you have mentioned that to me and my lovely mum sorted it out . But I fancy a nice newy for my check ups ( vain little me! ). Quite like the pink fronty ones. Saying vain, all gone boobs up, no nails, hair like Ozzy Osbourne, unibrow appearing and five o'clock shadow on upper lip... Gotta get sorted

Don't forget how dirty you feel! I'm sure I was stinking the hoose out until I got my stitches out and dressing off, then she said your free to shower. Home I trot and was in the shower for 25 mins!!

I do feel a bit stinky lol, too frightened to wash thoroughly , frightened of disturbing anything . Long shower would be heaven. Just gonna wash my hair now ... This'll be interesting.
