got strapping off today

hi girls i seen my boobs for the first time today when i had all the tape off and i dont like my left one atall.it goes more out to my armpit than the middle.and my boobs are so high u can see my scars.also my boobs are really far apart.will they change?have a look at them please.on picturetrail my username is boobies2009 and pw is same as before.if u havent got it pm me.xthanksx

I havent looked at your pics, and i am pre op, but im sure your boobies will drop, you are early days and from what ive read on here,there are lots of changes to happen yet xx

Hun your boobs look great, it really will just take a bit of time before the muscle will allow them to drop and come closer together. It's really early days and now you have had the bandages off you will be surprised at how much they change from day to day. I keep a boobie picture diary (not loaded onto picture trail yet as O/H has nicked my camera to take pictures of his car??? When obviously my boobs are much more important). This allows you to see the changes from week to week as you may not notice as you will become obssessed with looking at them all the time. :lol: But your scars look brilliant, much more healed than mine. Mine are still really red, although I've only just had stitches out 3 days ago and I don't think my boobies liked it. I did have overs so they will look different, as it can take a bit longer for unders as you have the muscle holding them down and I only have my skin to stretch. But I am 16 days PO and mine are dropping slightly but only so my bra fits in a sort of crease, they are still really high, still a bit pointy and hardish also still numb in places. I really wouldn't worry. But I'm sure someone who has had unders will be along to reassure you. I thought that after a few weeks I'd have boobs and they would be fine, and am realiseing i can't be impatient. I do just want my boobies to be healed and normal looking NOW! and it's hard but be patient, it can take a few months to see what you will get. It's easier said than done but try not to worry.

i know the other day i couldent wait to get my tape off nwo i wish there back on because i wouldent be worrying then and also my bras are rubbing on my scars and im so worried there going to get infected it seems wrong not to have nothing on them when they havent even healed over yet.imagine all the dirt thats going in them and the bra rubbing on them there never going to heal properly.x

Just looked at your pics hun and they look fab! like i say they have loads of changing there still quiet squashed in at the moment and will start to loosen up and soften soon.

I also worried about the scars rubbing on my bra, just make sure you keep the scars dry and leave them alone they will start to completly close up soon.

yes my nurse told me to have a shower every day and get the shower head and spray my scars with the shower to clean them.dont put no soap in them or rub them and only do it once a day.a power shower seems too harsh though and ive only got one setting.also as this bra is rubbing my scars carnt i loosen it or do you have to wear really tight bras?x

I feel the same about my scars geting infected. I put a clean bra on every day, have a shower, make sure I pat them dry. And when they are healed properly and scabs have fallen off I think I'll put bio oil on them. Try not to worry, just look after them, it's bound to be weird having just a bra on after being strapped up like a mummy for so long. We'll be all healed in no time, time is just flying by. Can't believe I'm 16 days already.

your bra shouldnt be really really tight hun but it should be tight enough to give you support, just make sure like she said to keep them clean but i also covered mine with steri strips for a bit aswell so you could try them if your nurse says its ok as it may stop the bra rubbing on your insicions.

ok i might ring her tommorow to ask.it might just be the type of bra im wearing.it only rubs on my left scar though my right one seems fine.when i had a shower earlier i didnt want to pat them dry i just let them dry on there own as i was scared to touch them.x

Could maybe get a bra extender if they are too tight. I know I went up 2 band sizes with swelling.

I used to dry mine on a cool setting with the hairdryer hun just dont put it too close, and as misf1 said it could be due to swelling i wore a bigger band size with my sports bra at first.

really.well i went to marks and spensers today as i was so worried i was wearing the wrong size bra and she mesured me and said im a 32c at the mo if the band was too tight thought i could wear a 34b im glad i went in there because before i was wearing 32d when i wasnt even that size.but it didnt really matter then as i had strapping on.but today it does now i have it off.im now still waring a 32d but a high impact sports bra from marks and spensers so its quite tight underneath.it isnt like a bra thought its like a crop top.thats still supportive thought isnt it?sorry girls keep going on and on.i get so worried about things x

It sounds supportive hun. I just got the asda sports bras as they were only £4 each or 2 for £6, so I could buy loads. I went mad and bought 34d in white an black, 34dd in both colours and 36dd in black and white. I also went back after my op as the 36 was too tight and bought a 38d which was much more comfy. They are too big now though so back in the 36.

It is good it drys them straight away i think if its a high impact one its probably going to be really tight anyway hun, i got mine from la senza and they were really comfortable and not too tight, i still wear mine now for bed.

May be an idea to get a couple just to see what your most comfortable in.

MXBabe they will be fine, I was just the same..... :sad: all day the day after my bandages came off.....they will look better and better every day, I promise x It's a bit of a shock at first that's all, try not to focus on scars and such like sweety x

I change bra a couple times a day into different sizes as my new additions seem to change size throughout the day. Sometimes they seem to swell a bit (towards the evening) and other times they seem to soften a bit and a smaller bra fits better.....Reading other posts though this sounds quite normal.

I spoke to a friend who did some training as a plastic surgery / burns aftercare nurse, she said gently PAT dry the incisions after shower, don't leave to dry naturally. I'm sure that the hairdryer trick will be fine too.

like the other girls have said it does take alot longer for unders to drop and settle.
it is definately a good idea to keep a photo diary for yourself to check the differences every week or so.
i had unders for 9 years but i have now changed to overs.

Hope u r feeling ok and liking your new boobies now? Bet they have settled well now ur 6 weeks on?? Are they soft and moveable? Im 3 weeks post op and just been given a strap to wear at the top of boobies for up to 6 weeks (evening and night time).
