Some concerns for you lovely ladies to help with!
Hi Ladies!
I have a few questions for you all if you don't mind me asking and taking up a little of your time!
I am now 11 days Post-op after having 380cc dual plane unders from a 34A. Now for the first few days I absolutly hated my new boobs as they were looking like high, hard, warm, puffy nippled torpedoes! After about the 5 day point I finally started to warm to them and not cry ooking them, lol! 11 days PO I am now much happier with them but still have a couple of niggling concerns...
I daren't touch them yet, lol! But how long does it normally take for them to feel like I can? I know each lady is different but right now I can't bring myself to have a prod! And both are numb underneath which is a really horrible sensation when I too touch, like it doesn't feel quite right!
They are still very hard (not AS high) how long is it until they start to soften?
Nipples are still large and puffy and no chance of them getting erect even when I have put ice packs on them... will this be forever?
I'm not to concerend with the scars, saw them for the first time yesterday and they are OK one looks a little odd where the drain was in but I guess it's still very early days!
I didn't have perfectly symmetrical boobs to start with, my left breast was slightly smaller but now that one is slightly bigger. Could this be because it has started dropping first or is this it forever? Weird the smaller one is now slightly bigger! My boyfriend says they look fine but I can see a difference.
I can also start wearing a bra as of Saturday, yay! So far I have had to have bare breasts with the binder on! Can't wait until Saturday and get my Macom on
Sorry for the long post but thanks in advance if anyone can offer some advice
Helen xx

I'm only 7 days post op myself and I know how you feel, mine are still hard rocks on my chest! The numbness is normal and is usually temporary, just give it more time. The same goes for the nipples not getting erect, they just need more time. As for the assymmetry your boobs heal independantly of one another and this can cause them to look assymetrical. Everything just needs more time, your body is going through a lot and I think we forget how big a BA is cos its so commonplace and the celbs seem to get them done on a Monday and be out partying by the Saturday but in the real world your body needs time. Hope this helps a bit, I'm sure someone who has been through the whole recovery process will reply to your post soon and give you some more pointers xx

What you are experiencing is normal and it's a big shock to the system to suddenly have these weird hard rocks on your chest and weird numb sensations strange feelings and quite commonly tears and worry. I had exactly the same feelings as you in the early days. I felt like I had these weird alien things on my chest which I hated the feeling of touching. However it does get easier once the swelling goes down they usually start to feel more and more like yours as the weeks and months go by. Mine felt a lot more like mine after about 6 weeks but it took until about 6 months post op for them to feel a lot softer, they also felt less numb. I still have a numb patch or two near my scars which will never return but most find sensation returns from weeks into their recovery or a year or more post op. Some people are lucky and everything heals quite quickly others like myself take a bit longer. I know it feels like they will never change but I assure you they will. I remember how hard it is to be patient. It's worth the wait and before you know it you'll be years post op wondering where the time went.
Re: Some concerns for you lovely ladies to help with!
I'm currently only three days post-op and feel very much how you did in the early days zebra! I'm not loving my boobs yet as they feel tight, hard, are high up and weirdly numb. But I know this is normal and it takes time to heal.
My boyfriend last night was asking if I was okay cos I hadn't been all 'ooh yay I have boobies woo-hoo' and he was worried I regretted getting it done. But explaining to him that it takes time to heal and for my boobs to feel like mine helped remind me. Plus all the advice and previous posts on here also help and you aren't the only one.
Everyone heals differently. I'm getting sensation my back in my right boob, but not yet in my left one (think its cos I'm right-handed) but I haven't yet been able to touch my boobs yet apart from a quick (but gentle!!) press on the top just where my bandage stops. Hopefully as the days wear on I will be able to see them drop (the thing freaking me out the most is the current position of my nipples!)
Continue to be patient in your healing - they'll feel like part of you in no time!

Wow thank you so much for the replies! It's just lovely to hear other people say all is OK and normal! Just such a shame it's not a quick process, though each day that passes I can feel a difference

Too true! when I was a bit younger I thought it was really that easy! I have no idea how they appear to have a BA one and be out and about the next. Superhuman celebs!

Hi helen , I am having exactly the same as you on the 8th Oct, 380cc dual plane unders, so I have taken an interest in this.It is true the celebs seem to be partying a few days later!!! I guess it is a shock to look down and see a big difference in ones body . From reading all the different posts on here some seem to recover quicker than others or get used to their new boobies quicker . At present I am worrying if I am gonna be too big and the recovery .

Hey!
If you have any questions about recovery etc just let me know! I was concerned 380cc might be too big as I'm a size 8, 5'8 but since I have been getting used to my new friends I am thinking they are fine, maybe not quite as big as I thought! I don't look silly at all and thinking once I can wear my Macom bra they won't look too big in clothes at all but big enough for people I know to take a second look, especially when I return to work, lol!
I was actually quite shocked in Debenhams yesterday, I tried on a shock absorber sports bra in a 34D and the band was too tight and not fitted on the boobs... If I turn out smaller than a D cup with 380cc I will be gutted but it's early days! Not liking the sports bras one bit, all look abit evil on the scars I would deffo reccommend the Macom :smiler: xx

Frankenboob stage - you will be fine hunni!!
Mine were torpedoes w/ puffy nips for about 1 or 1 1/2 months, slowly softening. I don't remember the stage that I was able to get hard nipples again (in other words - normal) but i feel like it was about 2 months. I'm still a bit numb underneath, but having boobies for the first time in my life has made me so happy I couldn't care less!!
happy healing hunni, just take it easy

Thanks so much for your reply, makes me feel confident about everything... it's only day 11 for me so I think I need a little patience, eh!
Too true, I can't wait until I get to go bra shopping for the first time xx

The numbness is caused by the trauma/severed to the nerves, they will heal over time and possibly cause many sensations as they heal. It's not a pleasant feeling I know running your hands over your boobs zebra and them not feeling like they're your own. But that does come in time and 'time' is something our clinics/surgeons never quite prepare us for post-op.
The time it takes for your boobs to feel like your own differs from person to person, for some it can be from day 1, others as long as 6 months. It's best to just take your healing one day at a time zebra. Don't compare your healing to others and take each phase of your healing as it comes. I was around 10 weeks post-op before I felt my boobs were 'mine'.
They are still very hard (not AS high) how long is it until they start to soften?
Mine 'started' at around 3 months post-op but it wasn't until they were about 6 months post-op until they felt squidgy. They continued to soften until 12 months post-op and beyond and now feel feel lovely and soft and move just as a real breast would.
Nipples are still large and puffy and no chance of them getting erect even when I have put ice packs on them... will this be forever?
It can take up to 12 months for full sensation to return and in all the time I've been here (3years) I've known of only 3 women not to have full sensation return to their boobs, so there is always a risk that we take onboard when having breast augmentation that we might lose some sensation, but it is very slim. Chances are sweetie that sensation will start to return, but as I said, it can take anything up to 12 months and after that. I had one nipple will no sensation that remained like that for 12 months before it returned back to normal.
I'm not to concerned with the scars, saw them for the first time yesterday and they are OK one looks a little odd where the drain was in but I guess it's still very early days!
It is hun. Very early days . The scars will get better over time, they heal to a thin light line. They'll be barely visible once fully healed this time next year.

Could this be because it has started dropping first or is this it forever? Weird the smaller one is now slightly bigger! My boyfriend says they look fine but I can see a difference.
We're often our own worst critics aren't we. Wonky boobs is normal early post-op. More common than you might think actually. If you think of your boobs having a separate operation on each boob, then one of them suffering a little more trauma to the breast as the surgeon tried to get the implant in, it helps you to better understand why one breast (the one which suffered the least trauma) starts to heal quicker than the other. xx

Re: Some concerns for you lovely ladies to help with!
Hi Zebra, I am 4 weeks post op just getting feelings and erect ness back in my nipples, one boob has no numbness and what was my smaller one preop has feeling on one side but the other side completely numb. I know it's hard as I constantly worry they will stay like this but after reading so many posts on here our boobs are healing at different stages and if you had one smaller as I did the likelihood is that one suffered a little more trauma so may take longer to heal.
