Hard rocks!
Hi Ladies,
I think I need some reassurance today I'm now 1 week post op (Yey!) the pressure on my boobs is always there, especially when I 'try and overdo it!' but sometimes righty, feels like its trying to burst out of my chest and it aches really badly! I've convinced myself that it is the macom as today it seems really tight!
Can anyone offer their opinion/experience, that would be great. :smiler:

I don't like to reassure people about these matters as I'm always worried in case I get it wrong, but....
It can take a few weeks for the swelling to go down and until then they will feel like rocks and you will continue to feel the pressure whilst they're swollen.
I'm 8 weeks and my righty still has swelling, maybe lefty too but difficult to say if your not experienced, righty is certainly still more solid than lefty. They do not feel unusual any longer, but I know it's still there as they're still at different stages of healing.
Sure someone else will be along with wiser words than me soon ;) x

Re: Hard rocks!
At one week post op your boobs are still incredibly early on in the healing process so these feelings are all very normal and as Lian said it's a good chance you still have quite a bit of swelling! Also it's worth noting that while both breasts were operated on together they still recover at different rates.
For now ensure you're wearing a sports bra which isn't too tight but is able to offer you enough support.. it may be that you need a bigger band as we can get quite a bit of swelling around our ribs PO!
Try using some ice packs to ease those feelings of pressure off and please please DON'T try and over do it LOL... take it easy hun and let your body recover. x

Re: Hard rocks!
I think your words of advice are very accurate Lian xx
I'm 4 weeks post op and remember the feelings your describing clearly Vicki at times I would actually go and have a lay down to ease the pressure. At 4 weeks post op the hardness as settled quite abit and only have it on my left side.
As Lian said you have lots of different healing stages to go through xx

Re: Hard rocks!
Thank you Ladies :smiler:
I think I was just feeling abit tired earlier and had a wobble lol. It sounds silly me asking this Alice, but.....how can I tell if it's too tight or not As I've never worn a sports bra before, and aren't they supposed to be quite fitted!? (I've changed into a shock absorber now)
Thank you x

Re: Hard rocks!
Its not silly, I was exactly the same, never had a clue about sports bras.. Nor normal bras for that matter... Never had a reason to wear sports bras and tried not to think about boobs nor bras as much as possible.
You could try measuring your ribs, see if they are swollen or not. Usually you would measure around your ribs, under your breasts, and if you get an even number add 4 inches, or odd number add 5 for your band size.

Re: Hard rocks!
Thanks Lian, I will do that, its very helpful
Shock absorber is worse, i think, as its good at the front, but i think the band is too tight. never mind will put the macom back on and measure myself, maybe will get another bra.

Re: Hard rocks!
FYI for if you do buy another sports bra and don't want to get fitted. You cup size should be the difference in inches between your ribs and the across your breasts.
1 inch diff is an A
2 inch B
3 inch C
4 inch D
5 inch DD etc etc
Just to give you an idea. It worked for me when I used those guidelines x

Re: Hard rocks!
If the band is fine on the Macom sweetie, then it's fine. They're made to accommodate all breast sizes so I wouldn't worry about your bra.
Being so early post-op sweetness, it really would be best if you didn't try to 'over do it'
Your new boobs very much need time to heal and the more stress you put on your upper body, the more it's going to ache hun.
Everything you're experiencing is normal for now, especially having one hurt more than the other (Generally on your more dominant side left or right handed)
I had one breast that felt it was bunching up inside my chest, but it's all normal and just part of the healing process. Like always though babe, if you're overly concerned at all, you can always just give quick call to your clinic even if only to get some reassurance. xx

Re: Hard rocks!
Thank you.
I put the macom back on and I'm feeling ok again! I think I was just a bit tired and had a wobble, I already knew the answer to this really due to this fab forum! Think I just needed some reassurance from people who have 'Been there'
Thanks so much everyone! :flowers:
