area between my boobies - swollen and aches
Hi all,
Well I am almost a week after my op and everything seems like its going ok, except
that my muscles are tight, having had unders, and an occasional nerve when I cough
inside my left breast, however I found that between my boobies this area is still rather
lifted up(swollen) and bruised and aches and when i do too much walking I need to sit down,
when does this heavy achy feeling go? and this area between my boobies relax and
stop aching?? (it feels the worst bit for me)
Once I have my dressings changed on thursday, I will be putting up my picturetrail.
Thanks all in advance xxx

Re: area between my boobies - swollen and aches
I felt the same way 1 week post-op! Whenever I stood up too long or did too much walking, my chest would feel really heavy and I needed to sit down. The area between the boobies were also numb and swollen.
I know it's been said many times on here that we all heal at different rates, but rest assured it's a normal feeling and it will pass. The 1st and 2nd week are the most uncomfortable. The 3rd week is still a bit achey. 4th and 5th week are a LOT better! Take comfort in knowing that you will soon start to feel normal. Just give it time.
Keep healing well and you will soon be able to appreciate and love your gorgeous new twins! xx

Re: area between my boobies - swollen and aches
Oooooo ouch! I remember that part of my recovery too Bouncy
What it is the sterum being stretched as the skin has stretched to accommodate the implant. It is sore I know and the skin is liftd from the chest wall. But as your skin/muscle starts to relax over the implant, your sternum too will relax sweetie.
Although unpleasant it's not something you need to worry about lovely, the skin does eventually go back to normal depending on how quickly your body heals.
My sternum was sore for about 2 months and remained raised still for a while after, I think my skin settled at about 5 months, but that does seem to be an exceptionally long time compared to how others have healed, but I did have pretty invasive surgery, so I suppose that's the exception, so it shouldn't be as long as that lol.
It does get better though lovely, an icepack placed between your boobs does help the tightness though so that might be worth a try. xx

Re: area between my boobies - swollen and aches
So relieved to find this post! I have swelling in my cleavage and it gets worse as the day goes by but the skin is raised in my cleavage, you cant see it but you can feel it and its sore. My cleavage was very very sore in the early days post op and now at 3 weeks its just a bit uncomfortable but the skin is still just as raised. Reading your post Cookie has put my mind at rest, especially as you had similar surgery to me! I think sometimes I forget that I didnt just have a BA I also had lipo to my breast and 400g of skin and tissue removed, my nipples trimmed and moved and thats a lot for the body to deal with!! Feel better now I know its normal. I know its not symmastia as I can clearly feel the edges of my implants and there is a clear defines gap between them but i was worrying that it would happen! Ice packs are definately a good thing!!!

With you having more invasive surgery 5stonedown your healing may take a little longer than the norm, I know mine did sweetheart... So just take every day as it comes and my best advice to you as especially as someone having had more invasive surgery would be to not follow other women's recovery times... Xx
