Keep seeing girls dissapointed
Keep seeing that girls are dissapointed and wish they had gone larger so it makes me worry that if i choose the smaller or mid implant, because the difference is so minimal, i will regret not going larger :( xxx

Sorry if I've been one of the ones who's worried you!
I can't remember which implant sizes you've been offered but if the difference between them is only a few CC then I really wouldn't worry. It's best to trust your surgeons judgement as well as your own. Only you know what's right for you!

In all honesty, I am one of them! Or maybe I'm just going through boob-greed phase right now! I'm exactly 1-week post-op and the past couple of days I've been looking at the twins and thinking, I should've asked for bigger! I went to my consultation asking for a modest size (this was before I found this wonderful forum)... I was sure then that i didnt want over-huge boobies. Then when I got them done and started coming on this site more often and saw bigger boobies, mine feel so tiny now :( and I feel disappointed. But it's too late. I just tell myself I should be thankful that I actually have boobies now!
But as many people have said on here, bigger is not always better and there will be times boob-greed will come over you! Be sure you are happy with your decision! It's a big one to make! Good luck on whatever size you decide!
Xx

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
I know how you feel. The first surgeon I met was going to give me 410cc and I was really worried that I would just end up looking the same as I do when I wear a really padded bra (which is all the time) and now I'm getting 525 I'm kinda worried that they will be too big haha! Not that having them really big is a problem to me I'm just worried I wont be able to find any nice bras in my size that aren't too expensive.
You never really realise how difficult it is to choose a size until it comes to it. When I first started looking into getting my boobies I thought it would be as simple as telling the surgeon what size you want and that would be it xxx

I think subconsciously everyone has a part of them that is expecting to come out like Jordan because compared to pre-op anything is going to seem bigger then the longer U wait for ur op the bigger in ur mind U get until finally U have ur op and look down and what is actually a sensible size now seems small and U have to think how U were before to put things into perspective. I'm sure U will b over the moon with ur results. Take some pre-op pics so U can remind urself how U were and how far you've come

I think most of us feel like this at some point and i agree with mariaelaina, that if the difference between your offered sizes is small then it may not make that much of a difference.
I think by speaking to the surgeon again and going through sizes will help and also trying on the implants. Taking pictures with you of someone who has the same sized boobs as you would like, will give the surgeon a good idea of the look you are wanting. The surgeon may also have a maximum size that he would use on you, which is also something to consider, although im sure they will work hard to help you find the right size for you, after all, thats what you are paying for.
Personally, i was offered 3 sizes and i asked for the largest size as i was having unders and i knew i would lose some of the size due to the placement. Although, once the swelling had gone down, i too thought mine were smaller that id hoped for. Now, whenever i feel this way, i squeeze myself in to my old 34B bra (which is hideously small as i now measure 32G) and that makes me realise just how grateful i am.
Hope this helps
Good luck

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
What you need to think about hun is that when you come on forums such as this, the majority of women you're joining are going to pre-BA who like yourself are in a sizing quandary or early post-op and most early post-opper when their boobs start to settle start to miss their full upper pole they first had and kind of see this as a reduction in size, when in reality, all that has happened is the lower pole has filled out and the breast has increased!!!!
Look for any post on here from women a year plus post-op. If you fast forward that year, Yes, you'll a small few who still have boob greed and would like to go bigger, yes, you'll find a a few who have boob greed but are happy and content with what they have, and there's the majority who you wont see come back. These are the women who are happy and out there enjoying their new boobs!!!!!
And of course their are a few of us long timers that share our time here that are either very happy with their decision or bare the scars of a wrong decision hun.
Size is an important decison hun and there's so many factors to take into consideration. The majority of early post-oppers with boob greed before letting their new boobs settle shouldn't be one of them hun, 'cos it won't be long before the majority of them will be off and enjoying their boobs.
Think about your body type, think about the least risk of complication and always remember, it's easier to increase in size if you're genuinely not happy, but to reduce if you're genuinely not happy, you'll have to have a far more invasive surgery to fix that, having an uplift with further scars.
If you're struggling with size babe, do make another appointment to speak with your surgeon. Don't leave it too late or just decide off the cuff, you want to get this right, so having a good chat with your surgeon about what is the right thing for YOU would probably be the best way forward sweetness. xx

Very wise words cookie xx
My friend had a BA and initially we thought that they looked really small.. after 2 months they settled and look much much bigger..
it seems to me that you really needs to wait several months to see a final result xx

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
Initially I was really quite disappointed with myself for not going larger as I felt they weren't as big as I'd expected. I really got used to them very quickly and in clothing, squashed under a sports bra they really looked no different to when I'd wear a gel bra.
Fast forward 3 months PO and I'm very happy with my decision regarding sizing. I can dress them up when I go out in a good bra, or I can squash them down in my sports bra's at work (I work mainly with men).
When I eventually NEED a re-op I'll go a little bit bigger, but it may prevent me ever needing a breast lift where as I could have gone bigger and it would have been very difficult to downsize after.
Discuss with your surgeon what he thinks is best for your body, there is a chance no matter what size you'll have a little bit of boob greed but hopefully it shouldn't last.x

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
I do agree with cookie, the early months post op while everything is changing and your boobs are dropping into place etc can be a worrying time and many fear their new boobs will shrink or they wish they went bigger. Plus sports bras are the bane or our lives for those first weeks as they do nothing for you and squash they down making them look like nothing. Having to get your head around a new way of dressing to either show them off or hide them is a steep learning curve (even though we've all worn padded bars) come the first year most people have watched al their changes and learned how to dress their new assets for any occasion, learnt what bras create cleavage and what give you a nice day shape. Then we mostly seem to be content.
As Alice and cookie have said, it is so much easier to go bigger next time, than it is to go smaller

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
If it reassures you I've had no boob greed, I'm happy with my size and I only got 240cc.
I can see how the feeling of not having gone big enough can happen though. At first boobs are swollen and high, as the swelling goes down and they drop we may perceive them as smaller even though they're not, but that's because we get used to them looking a certain way, then they change. Also, as much as forums like this one can be a life saver, on the other hand it's easy to get carried away and compare our size to others.
I think it's important not to lose sight of the look you want. Take pictures with you, show them to your surgeon to make sure he/she gets it right. Remember the look you wanted after your op, so if you start to feel boob greed look at those pics or remind yourself about the look you wanted to have in the first place xxx

I think thats very well said Roxanne. I never had boob greed either so count myself lucky for that. I had a chance to go bigger when I had pips replaced but chose not to, strangely enough they did end up a E from a DD xx

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
Its just hard as I don't want to look smaller than a D but no larger than a DD and I suppose I'm worried about the choices, definately would like to avoid going too big, as you say it's sensible, as it's easier to go bigger than smaller x x

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
Hi Lauren, I had modest sized implants (365) and I LOVE them (I'm only 12 days post op). Every time I get dressed I'm soooo impressed that my clothes just fit right but that no one would know Ive had a boob job (obv not wore anything that would show them off yet) but that when I get undressed they are highly impressive!
I also got worried I'd have boob greed and I choose the bigger of the 2 sized implants I was offered, but there was only 55cc diff anyway, but I honestly don't think I ever will, I have got exactly what I asked for (I'm in a DD sports bra btw).
Just try to keep in mind your goal rather than other peoples goals and I'm sure you'll make the right decision

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
Just to add to this thread I'm another who hasn't got boob greed at all, I never have, infact I've reduced my implant size once already and plan to do so again in the future. xx
Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
I can see how this must be a very difficult decision for you in particular Lauren as you have been given so many options and your image has a direct impact on your work (if im right your a model?). I honestly think you should go and consult another surgeon armed with pictures of your desired outcome and see what he suggests, even if you still intend to go with the surgeon your booked in with, I just think you need a professional opinion, rather than so many options.

Also bear in mind that not many people are going to start a thread entitled 'I picked the right sized implants' or reply to a boob greed thread if they are happy with their choice

Re: Keep seeing girls dissapointed
I'm still very early in my recovery but my only moment of boob greed was just before my surgery when i came on here and saw the size of most girls implants.
During my first consultation when my doctor asked what i wanted i just said "i want my clothes to fit me" and when he asked what i didn't want i said "i don't want to walk down the street and have people notice my big boobs" Surprisingly those two answers were all he needed to decide on the size and profile of my implants. Of course, like just about every girl (even here in France) i also had to say "i don't want Victoria Beckham boobs" lol
I think whilst it's great to be informed, we need to remember that the internet does not make us more qualified than our plastic surgeon. Just make sure you talk openly about what you do and don't want and if you trust them enough to operate on you, then you should trust them to use their judgement.
xx
Oh and also, my surgeon told me to go buy a few dresses and bring them in for a second consult. It was great seeing what i'd look like in my own clothes rather than the plain white t-shirt another ps insisted i wear. Now i just need to wait for my boobs to drop before this great weather ends, i don't want to wait until next summer!
