I know I'll need help with my little boy after the op but have family nearby who are fantastic for helping out.

Am just wondering how long it takes for things to go back to normal with pets. I have 4 dogs and 2 cats - anyone have a rough idea when I'll be back walking the dogs/changing litter trays etc

I wouldn't change the litter tray due to weight of it to tip, but I do use one of those big cat loos. One of my cats always jumps on my chest to headbutt me good morning but he had to get used to me pushing him to my side and leaving him a space near my shoulder on the bed for him to get on instead! Ha x

Thanks ladies. The dogs aren't really pullers - I have the easy walk harnesses for them but there is bouncing and excitement when the leads appear!

May ask a friend to take the cats for the first week - one less thing to worry about and my male tabby is a big baby who would demand cuddles regardless of how I was feeling!!

If you can get help for the pets for a least the first week if you're on your own that would probably be best babe.

Walking the dog might well be a problem depending on how quickly you heal. I couldn't open a tin of beans for 2 weeks post-op let alone walk the dogs misspetal. So if there's someone who can help you with dog walking too that would help you a lot, unless your dogs don't mind going in the garden? If they're fine to do that then they'll be OK to go without walks for a week or 2 till you feel strong enough to go out on a walk with them, but that's only if you're 100% sure your dogs won't pull on the lead babe, if there's any possibility that they will then as the girls have already explained, a 6 week period might be necessary until after your initial 6 week healing is over. xx
