Post by icecream 30th July 2012, 5:23 pm

3 days before my op and I am starting to stress!

It doesn't help I've been reading unsuccessful BA stories the past couple of hours! panic

I'm currently taking antibiotics to clear a BV infection, and I checked with my ps if the op needs to be reached to make sure it clears up before the op but he says not to worry we can go ahead with the op on Thurs! Even thoug he's reassured me I can't help but worry about an infection and having to get them taken out and redone again! nope

I just read about a blog about a someone who fell sick and went into a coma after getting her BA done due to her body not accepting the implant! Again, I'm panicking even more! What if that happens to me?!

And another thing I worry about is what if I have heart failure in the middle of the op?! Crazy, I know! But I can't help but worry! I am the biggest worrywart ever!

Stress! Stress! Stress! I just want to get it over and done with already!

3 days and counting! I know I should be happy, but I'm now more worried than excited! disappoint

Sorry for the rant ladies! Just had to get it out!

Aww! Don't worry about thinks like heart failures and comas! As long as your surgeon's fully qualified, got a good CV and isn't working in a back alley somewhere you'll be in good hands. I kept telling my anesthetist that I was worried that I was going to wake up in the middle of the operation, I even got the nurse to bring him up to my room before my operation just to make extra special sure I was going to have enough anesthetic...but after I woke up in recovery I didn't know why I was so worried. You're going to wake up after your op with a fabulous set of boobies and that's that Uh-oh! Starting to stress! 113752

Who is your surgeon sweetheart? Have you spoken directly to the surgeon himself?

The only reason I ask is because I have all the same information as yourself from my own research that a BA shouldn't be performed if you have an infection because of the possibility of it traveling and causing further problems. But I'm no surgeon hun and it's only what I've read Uh-oh! Starting to stress! 267328

I can totally understand your concern though babe. Is it possible for you to double check? Also ask would the anesthetist be happy to proceed too whilst you have an infection. xx

Thanks for the encouragement mariaelaina!

@cookie - I did speak to my ps and he reassured me it shouldn't be a problem. The reason I think he said it is because BV is common in every woman's body. For some it's just a bit more. It's not as serious as a liver infection or a chest infection or a blood infection.

Ahhhh! More worries! I should think positive thoughts! I leave it up to God. Whatever happens, happens!

Thanks ladies!

Ooooh I couldn't even read your post it freaked me out so much. I'm glad I'm not in your head you poor thing x
Maybe stop with the scarey stories until after your BA whilst its now only 2 days away (yippeeee!). I just avoid freak-happenings stories in general now anyway, ive not read a take-a-break for years.... Every time I cut my finger I was wondering whether this would be the time I got a freak blood infection and my head would fall off; or maybe because I stumped my toe I might develop some life-threatening degenerative disease of the ear.
Being informed is a necessity, but maybe best not to read so much so close to surgery date, concentrate on meadows of flowers and chubby babies and kittens and puppy-dogs instead ;) x x x

Thanks Lian! yes, chubby babies and puppies are way better images than heart failure and coma images!

It went really well thanks and I'm a very happy girl, really looking forward to seeing how they change and settle.

I have no complaints about anything so far. I think the pain I feel is to be expected and im finding it manageable (had overs). I've been really quite happy and upbeat to be honest (its a good time to have an op as we have an excuse to lie in bed and watch the olympics all day ;) I'm gonna get out for a stroll later and then back to bed for resting!

I hope you manage to enjoy ... I'm sure you'll be great! X

I've lessened the horror-stories reading, and more positive-outcome stories! I'm still a nervous wreck! Almost contemplating backing-out, but I've wanted this for so long, I can't back out!

2 more sleeps to go!
