What to use on scars?
The nurse said I can massage my scars now, she suggested THG's balm or Bio oil/cocoa butter. Just wondering what the best thing to use is and have you got to be gentle? I was never told to do this after my 1st BA x

Hey!
Love the pic! I have started to use bio oil on mine, I am quite gentle but add a bit of pressure to try and remove the lumps from the stitch heads (as suggested by the nurse) not really been doing it long enough to see any difference yet, im still quite purple in some areas x

Re: What to use on scars?
Personally, I don't think it matters what you use hun, on my first scars I used nothing at all nut cocoa butter and as you can see from my thread 'scars 2 1/2 years post-op' the scar are great!
I think the most important thing is the massage to break down the scar tissue, just go as firm as you feel comfortable and use a circular motions to rub in the oil or lotion, whichever you choose.
I used Bio-oil religiously after my uplift with the scars being worse than they were having my BA and I also when given the green light used Cica-Care silicone scar sheets, which did help a little but nothing I'd rave about, my scars from my first BA, when I just used cocoa butter came out best!
So, whichever you enjoy using more babe, just go with with that, like I said, it the breaking down of that scar tissue that going to give you the best result, so dont worry too much about what you're going to use... that's how I've found anyway. xx

Re: What to use on scars?
I swear by cocoa butter for anything skin related - I used to get a lot of burns from hair straighteners (professional hazard!) and I don't have a single mark and even the worst burns I got never blistered or went dry as long as I kept them nice and moist with cocoa butter.

Hiya, I use E45 to massage my scars then put dermatrix gel on them twice a day. It's a bit pricy but my surgeon suggested it. Gotta follow orders! ;)

Just start off gently babe, you'll gain more confidence the more you touch them and get to know the feel of your scars. xx

Do you think all scars react/heal differently because with my 1st b a I did nt use anything at all and the scars were virtually invisible. I have not used anything on these ones either and they look fine and are healing well.xx

Re: What to use on scars?
I didn't use anything at all for my 1st BA either and scars were virtually non-existant. x
