Been sports bra shopping
So having had my re-op confirmed decided I needed to get some new sports bras seeing as the ones I used first time round don't fit anymore! and this time I have decided to get some decent ones as I'll be wearing them for some time. Saw that Debenhams had Shock Absorbers on offer online so went in there to try on and find out what size fits me now, as hopefully the decrease in implant size won't equate to a whole cup size.
Took lots into the changing room, I usually wear a 30FF but know that post op I won't be able to wear a 30, first time time round I took 34s to accomodate swelling but TBH I didn't really have any and the 34s were too big, so will be going straight for 32s (tried one 30 band and wouldn't go near me?! I mean what is that about?) I tried the Max Support and the Run bras. Really liked the Run bra, loved that it was seamless inside so wouldn't irritate my skin or scars, 32F fitted nicely but OMG! do you have to be a contortionist to do up the top clip whilst wearing it??!! I could not do it and if I can't do it now there's no way I can do it post op with my movement restricted. I had read reviews that said you do it up before you put it on then pull it over your head, which totally defeats the point of a back fastening bra:roll: the bra was fine without the top clip done up, probably more comfortable, so I decided to get it only to find out at the checkout it was full price, so I said I'd buy it online and get the discount got get home to find out the offer ended yesterday!
Anyway that lead me onto a mammoth search for the best price online for the Run bra (wiggle.co.uk) but then I happened across Lessbounce, and decided to go for a couple of Triumph bras. I did buy the Tri Action Extreme last time and whilst I really liked it I was sort of between sizes so didn't keep it, as I've changed so much since then I thought I'd give it another try. Also found the Tri Action Hybrid Star bra half price which I really liked the looks of as they had some different colours, placed the order straight away at about 5.15pm, few minutes later I get an email saying my order has been despatched! I received it today and am so happy with the Hybrid Star, it's so comfy, extremely supportive (they ain't moving anywhere!) nice padded straps, very low back for a sports bra and best of all it's unnoticeable under most of my tops! I was going to buy in a few higher neck tops but now I won't have to
As for the Tri Action Extreme it's still not a good fit, it's a great bra just not for me, so I have sent it back to exchange it for another Hybrid Star, they do it black with red trim, white or grey with pink (I'm wearing it in my avi) I really want the black one but they're out of stock at the mo, have sent them an email asking how long before they are back instock and am waiting for a reply. I think they are a bargain £40 down to £20 and would highly recommend it.

I did try on M&S ones, they're version of the Run bra, didn't like the way the top part went across the tops of the boobs (I am very fussy about rubbing/irritation/seams) and as for the zip up one forget it! they only go up to an F cup so tried a 32F band was fine but I could hardly do up the zip (because the cup wasn't big enough) and I was completely squashed! looked horrible, not only that but I would still find it very difficult to put on early post op because I did have to raise my arms and twist and wriggle into it as it's like a very tight waistcoat.
I do have 2 of the Asda sports bras but they only start at a 34band so have got 34Es just incase I experience any swelling this time round.
Feel very happy I've got that sorted, as last time I just sort of made do, kept telling myself it was only 6wks and then I wouldn't wear them again (how wrong was I?! I've been back in them for awhile now due to the pain and always wear them at night) and couldn't justify the expense as I wanted to save for the nice bras! As it turned out when my 6wks was up and I moved onto soft cup non wired bras I found them way more comfy than underwires and wear them more often, only problem is nice non wireds in a 30FF or 32F are a rarerity.
Makes me feel better knowing I'm doing what I can to get organised whilst I wait for the countdown, 4 weeks today and it will all be over, I can't wait. Getting prepared is easier this time as I know what I do and don't need and what I will and won't be capable of, but it also means I know what to expect and what I'm not looking forward to, for now I'll just think about my lovely surgery day.

Pleased to hear you're all sorted and getting prepared! I agree about pre op thinking you can get away with just a few .. Boy was I wrong!
Just keep focused on the positives, you know what to expect this time and it will be over before you know it! X

Re: Been sports bra shopping
I just read a test online of sports bras and have plumped for the triumph triaction extreme instead xx it came top for no movement out of 10 tested so will give it a go xx I have gone for a 32F, I'm a 32G, but I have read that they are a bit on the big side so hopefully this will fit snugly and hold me in place xx
It came top out of ten tested so will see what I think xx normally I wear Enell but they are over £40 so although they are exceptional they are a bit pricey xx if this does the same job then it's a bargain at £27.50 xx

Re: Been sports bra shopping
I know, you can pick them up for around the £40 to £45 mark xx
They are worth every penny if you run xx hold you in place with hardly any movement at all xx
I bought two, unfortunately I was about a stone lighter when I bought them both and so although they still do fit generally, the band is a little too tight and they are restricting my chest a bit making it uncomfortable xx

Re: Been sports bra shopping
Ive just ordered mine from M&S with the zip front so I dont have to worry about putting my arms above my head to pull one on or fasten from the back. 3 different sizes so I can swap them after surgery to get the right size once I know the swellings gone down a bit! EEEEEEEP!!!

Re: Been sports bra shopping
Wishful- yes the cups are moulded which I like.
Kay- hope you like the extreme, I think you should be able to get away with the 32F, as I've said I fit most other 32F sports bras but that one was a little on the big side so hopefully you'll be fine.

Re: Been sports bra shopping
Yes I think I saw that too, why?????!!! you finally find a decent bra and they discontinue it There's another of triumphs sports bra that they are discontinuing in the larger cup sizes too, as if it isn't difficult enough to find bras in larger cup sizes with small band sizes:roll:
