foammminggg !feel so let down
hi everyone as i put before i was due to have my ba 5th july at my local spire which i thought would of been a great place to go had second consultation last week confirmed sizes i thought i would of been able to get bigger but 440cc would be the biggest i could get (im size 14 and thought i was a 38b actually very empty 38d now ive measured myself ) so i emailed surgeon yesterday just to double check i would achieve the look i wanted as i want to be quite big for my frame was thinking around e/f if not bigger just to put my mind at rest as looking on here at sizes etc i just want it to be what i want anyways i was checking paying aswell as he told me to pay after because i could be getting an uplift as well or just implant he will decide on the day but i received letter to say pay 7 days before so i was checking everything now he emails back to say he has postponed my op as he thinks i need to speak to him again and to make an appointment for his next clinic in about a month im foaming the last thing i want to do is cancel ive waited so long for this i 100% trusted his judgement etc and was very happy to go ahead now im soooooo stressed i could cry is this wrong ??? can they just cancel on me like this ???? help please xxxx

No, you waffle away hun xx I would be upset / annoyed as well xx
They do have the right to cancel / postpone you hun xx have a look [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to read about one of our poor girls who really was left hanging xx
Have you emailed back ? I would, asking him what details he wants to discuss and what you thought was happening and how you were happy with it xx perhaps it's just a misunderstanding xx

Re: foammminggg !feel so let down
I'm guessing the reason your surgery was postponed is due to your hesitation over implant size lovely and I'm thinking 'before' going to into surgery, your surgeon would like to go over this again with you to ensure you get what you want from your surgery.
I can understand you might be upset Jay, but flip the coin and think of it this way, if you went into surgery without having this second consultation and weren't happy with the size post-op, then it would be your surgeon you'd blame for this wouldn't it and you'd be left with boobs you wouldn't be happy with.
This way, both you and your surgeon get an opportunity to sit down together again and have an indepth discussion about what it really is you're wanting, instead of heading into theatre being undecided. Both yourself and your surgeon will then be happy with the proposed surgery plan without having any regrets post-op.
I know which way I'd rather go into surgery Jay and I personally think your surgeon has made the right choice for you Jay and given you a great opportunity with you being so undecided. Many surgeons wouldn't be so caring babe, they have just taken you into theatre and just done whatever size you asked without thinking about it and the possibility of complications going larger may cause.
Sending a big hug babe, 'cause you sound so annoyed xx

Wise words from Cookie hun xx
Re reading your post (more carefully this time), I can see now why he may want to see you again xx without knowing what you put in your email it's difficult to say for sure, but he perhaps thought your expectations are different to his and so he needs to manage this so you don't come out of surgery unhappy
ATEOTD you don't want to end up with a result that you weren't expecting

I really feel for you hun but i do defo agree with Kay and Cookie :-) In the long run its better that you.
I have booked a second consulatation with my surgeon before my surgery as I was sooooo.... unsure about my implant.
Can you not ask if he could see you any earlier than a month to discuss things?? xxx

Re: foammminggg !feel so let down
ive already had 3 consultations with him everything was all sorted all i was questioning was what the implant size its self what we agreed on which am sure was the 440cc all i wanted to know was that it would 100% achieved the look i wanted because i know everyone is different and achieves different sizes i wasnt changing my mind if u know what i mean
on my second cons he said i needed uplift aswell so we comfirmed everything and then i had my 3rd last week to finalise everything he said at that one i might not need uplift and just a new implant he has been using but he would see on the day honeslty my head is just done right in im all set to get them done xxxx

Re: foammminggg !feel so let down
oh no :-( 3 consultations already??? surely he had already discussed everything in the time he had, so why should he want to postpone???
When did you book the date for the op?
Surely he could have got in contact sooner?
Have you not got anyone you can contact at the hospital, like you patient care co-ordinator??? mine is very good and she always knows what is going on xxx

Re: foammminggg !feel so let down
spire dont have one i only go through him ,
thats what i thought we had discussed everything because every consultation it changed overs, unders, uplift possibly not an uplift i just wanted to confirm i would definitely get the look i wanted overall and my payment query and that was all no need to postpone .
someone has just rang from spire confirming he has cancelled it so ive told her that's not what i want at all and it was just a general question so she is going to get back to me today or tomorrow hopefully it still goes ahead fingers crossed xxxxx

Re: foammminggg !feel so let down
I really think your surgeon just has your best interests at heart lovely, so whatever the outcome. I'm sure it will be for the good hun xx
Re: foammminggg !feel so let down
Oh hun sorry to hear that!
Cookie has offered some wise words though, you want to make sure your 100% happy with your end result, and if you have stated to your PS in a email a particular size maybe he feels its not achieveable with what you have both discussed with your implant choice previously? which is why he has possibly cancelled! It really is hard to say without knowing what you and your surgeon have previously discussed and what was written in the email.
The only thing i would suggest for clarification is getting back on the phone and getting some clear answers from your PS as to why he feels the cancellation is necessary. Try not to feel so down, which i know is harder said than done....either way it could be a simple lack of misunderstanding in communication or on the other hand could save you being unhappy with your new boobies in the long wrong.

Re: foammminggg !feel so let down
Aww jay I imagine this is very stressful for you, I don't think there is much worse for a woman than having it cancelled so soon.
But even if you're sure about what you want, maybe your surgeon isn't. It's good that he wants to dot the I's and cross the T's rather than just getting you in and out... it shows he wants you to be happy with the results. As much as this can feel like a race when you want your boobies, as soon as it's done you realise you have a hell of a way to go until the next pair so you really do want to get it right the first time around.
Like Letfreedomsing was, you've only been held back from this. They will come, you just have to see the positives in it and know that when your day does come around it will be absolutely perfect!!! x

Re: foammminggg !feel so let down
Even though your annoyed I do agree with the other ladies.
You and your surgeon need to be absollutely sure or you could be very dissapointed never mind today.
I remember walking in to my bathroom one day after. I took one look and knew I was gonna have a re-op.
Dont get me wrong, they looked good for what they were but they looked too small for my frame.
I had three consultations. the first two told me 400cc and I thought no way cause my sister had 400cc and she is much bigger than me.
Then I had my third consultation and I was told 340cc. This size seemed realistic to me and the surgeon made me feel comfortable so I went with him.
The surgeon began drawing on me moments before my BA and says "I think you should go bigger" 375cc he suggested. I agreed because I trusted he knew what he was talking about.
Well it turns out none of them knew what they were talking about. I am now going for a re-op to hopefully achieve my desired results.
The same surgeon now suggest 485cc and a different profile. probably on the day he will suggest bigger like the last time.
I am going to see him again before my BA just to be sure that on the day he tries 485cc and the next size up,which is 540cc. Whatever size looks best is the one I want him to go for.
Im just saying that im very annoyed that I have to go through all this again 6mths later so you take your time and do the right thing for you.
Your surgeon want sto be very sure and if you measure two cup sizes bigger than you originally thought, all measurements need to be done again so that you achieve the best results possible.

Oh hun so sorry to hear this, I know its very frustrating, but like Cookie says, he wouldnt just do it for the hell of it, im sure he has your best interests at heart and just wants to make sure everything turns out exactly how you want.
Its very easy to just want it right now, we live in a culture where we want immediate effects and satisfaction, but when it comes to something as serious as a BA, you really dont want to muck about. Just try and keep calm and not let it get to you too much babe, itll all work out in the end *big hugs* xx
