Hello hunnies, i have an update x
Hi girls, love what you have done with the forum, havent been on here again for ages... Been so busy, but i did promise id keep you up to date :)
Recap; my left boob went hard, sore and i had red marks at the bottom
Went to see my PS, she had a feel and said didnt think anything was wrong with the implant so go to GP to have altra sound scan thingy to see if i have a sist (sp) growing etc... Also said it could also be just swollen :suspect: and it may have something to do with me having horses- which i think is bu11crap !!! I was told by her that after my ba i could ride after 6 weeks, just to be safe i didnt get on a horse till 3 months post op!
Anyway, went to my doctors and she sent me up the hospital to see a breast surgeon... She looked and said i needed a scan (i thought thats what i was there for?? ) and she gave me an appointment for 3-4 weeks to go back for one
She also told me she is pretty sure i have a rupture :pale: :pale: But needs the scan to confirm it. Symptoms i have are, very hard boob, lumps, sore, swollen and red patches..
She said she could take it out at hospital but she will not replace the implant, so now i have to have the scan (really annoying that i have to wait so long for this if i have silicone leaking!!) then take the results to my PS and have a re-op on that boob
Just want to AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Anyone had to have a rupture implant replaced? Please tell me it will be ok?

God you must be so frustrated, I dont understand though how they can say its a rupture without scanning first, I had a lump in my breast recently and went for a scan and its still ongoing but was told that that a normal scan would struggle to pick up ruptures and if a rupture was suspected then an mammorgram or mri (ithink thats what its called) would have to be done, is this what your having. Hard boobs, and soreness could be a few things, but hey there the experts, I hope everything goes alright for you xx

Hi, Sorry to hear about your situation. Hopefully the 4 or so weeks wont drag that long. Hope it not the horse riding or im screwed aswell lol. Do you mind me asking what make implants you had, because if it is a rupture, criky, 5 months seems 'very' early?

Can't believe that they have treated you so badly. I know its going to be so difficult for you over the next few weeks, but try and keep busy and one week will soon turn into four. Who did you go with? i would check what their policy say's on aftercare.

Hi- sorry to hear about this Unfortunately even mri scans can sometimes do not dedect a rupture. I think they call them silent ruptures. How are your lymph nodes?- any lumps under your armpits at all?
It must be really frustrating having to wait that long for an appointment- can you contact your surgeon?- maby he could see you quicker then going through a doctor?

I would have thought that your PS would have been able to tell that it was a rupture, who was your PS?

hi Charlie, u had the same ps as me didnt u? Barbara Lutz. did u have the cohesive gel implants? i was told by my pcc that the only way they could rupture is if u had an high impact car accident and had a massive blow to the chest xx

Re: Hello hunnies, i have an update x
Hi all, no lumps under my armpits, doctor and both surgeons have checked these. Yes i have Dr lutz, went with transform. The reason they think its a rupture is because apparently i have all the syptoms that go with a rupture?!?!
It was either that or an infection, but anti biotics havent made any difference and it hasnt got even slightly better..
I read on Transform website and it said :
"Care for spontaneous rupture of implants for up to 5 years – saving you a potential £2200."
So i think im ok, well i **naughty word** better be after just 5 months!!
I really dont know what else it could be if it isnt a rupture? Maybe that boob is jusr rejecting that implant? But, wouldnt that happen from the beginning? The first 4 months were fine... I havent had any blows to that boob at all, i havent feel off my horse, i havent been over doing things at the gym, nothing!
When i went to see Dr lutz she said when i go for the scan, i had to take the results back to her if its anything to do with the implant... Then she would 'deal with it'. :(
Thanks for all the well wishes hun's x

Re: Hello hunnies, i have an update x
I feel disappointed for you that transform can't arrange for you to have a scan sooner. They have their own hospitals, so whats the problem? I was thinking of phoning transform to arrange for my ba and i was going to go with Dr Lutz, but now i do't feel so sure.
Really hope you get it all sorted out quickly. The way i read the transform aftercare, you should be covered for 1 further BA to rectify your possible rupture. If after that it happens again, then i think the cost of any further treatment is down to you.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Hey lovely, great to see you back, but sorry it's becasue you're havng problems.
ShootingStar's had one implant removed and I think she's doing amazingly. She really is. Just goes to show even when there are problems with a good support network you can be fine.

Re: Hello hunnies, i have an update x
Well hello sweetie!!!
Oh hun i am gutted for you :pale: i don't know how you have managed to get a rupture hun, i too was told this type of implant (cohesive gel) was alot harder to rupture (???) i guess if you have ruptured then it's just proved that's not the case & it can happen regardless of what type of gel.
I know that if you get implant infection anti-biotics don't tend to reach it (deep chronic infection) and your body does try to reject it, this can happen a few months after the op too if any bloods/fluids have not been naturally absorbed by your body and become trapped behind the implant, mine was 3 months post op & the reason it worked it's way through my scar was because i still had a small opening for it to work towards.
Has an infection definately been ruled out hun??
Let us know how things go and i'm sending you loads of hugs xx
