Gappy Boobs!
Hi,
Hoping you guys can help.
Ive seen loads of BA over the last few years and cant help but notice how many bad ones there are.
A friend of mine was fairly small chested (like me) and had them completed a few years ago. Her new boobs have quite a big gap inbetween them and they look stupidly round.Hope this makes sense and i hope im not offending anyone.
I really donot like the stuck on round gappy look-i want very natural looking.
Is the above due to an overly large implant or is this just part of the risk.
These are the main reasons that its taken me sooo long to decide to go ahead.
Hoping you guys can help.

Re: Gappy Boobs!
It's all a matter of what you have to start with and your personal choice, some people like a rounder look others are fearful and they prefer tear drop implants. The problem with the gap is, you will have the same gap after your BA as you did before. I had a big gap before and I have the same after, although it's not unnaturally big. If you want to reduce the size of your natural gap you need to discuss it with your surgeon. Although you should also note, if you have them too close this isn't a natural look either and can also result in complications.
I would consider a bad boob job to be something which has a disfiguring effect on the person which is caused by deffective implants or the surgeon making an error and the person being upset by it. Please note what you may not like, may be exactly what someone else likes. We all have different tastes and we must be respectful of that.

Hi,
Thankyou for your response. I didnt mean to offend or anything of the sort.
I just want to make sure if certain looks are due to your body and the fitting of the implant.

Re: Gappy Boobs!
If you study the cleavage gap you have 'pre-BA' kenzie, this is the cleavage gap you'll achieve post-BA, the gap between your breasts will remain the same. So sweetheart, although you may feel your friend has a large gap between her implants, this is not a surgeons error, nor is this something your friend had control over, the gap would have always been there before and quite possibly have been emphasised through having breast augmentation surgery.
In regard to the kind of 'look' you're wanting from your BA, when you have a consultation lovely, it's up to you to express to your surgeon the kind of look you're hoping to achieve. To help you with this, taking pictures into the consultation with you of the size and shaped breasts you like will help your surgeon so much (mens mags such as NUTS are a good place to look), not only will you and your surgeon have a visual to discuss but as surgeons dont work in cup sizes as many women are mistaken to believe, they work in volume (CCs) they have a much clearer picture of how many CCs might be needed to achieve the look you're wanting. xx

Re: Gappy Boobs!
Hi Kenzie, you can still have a large gap and look natural, just have a look at my avatar <-------- :heehee:
If you choose an implant size that's too big for your natural frame, you can end up with the 'augmented' look, however I choose a smaller implant that my surgeon felt would look natural on me and have ended up with this look which I'm really happy with.
Even if you do have a gap to begin with, after your boobs soften and drop, you can achieve a nice cleavage with the right bra. I would have liked a nice 'bum cleavage' but it just wasn't possible with my breast tissue and muscle position.
Hope this helps and good luck xxx

Re: Gappy Boobs!
To be honest I always stressed to my ps that I wanted to look natural, but now I'm post op I actually really like the 'augmented' look now
Also I was so flat chested and tuberous so i had a massive gap but actually now I've had a BA you wouldn't have thought I ever had a gap, but everyone is different I guess, however it did emphasise how uneven my boobs are! That or it hasn't finished dropping yet...

Re: Gappy Boobs!
Hi Kenzie, welcome to the forum! I'm very tiny myself (43kg, size 6/8) and when I read your message I felt your concern because I used to have the same thoughts. The end result (including the gap) depends on many things as the other girls have already stated. Some of them are your natural breast shape, structure of your ribs, your natural size, etc. and that's why you need to ask your surgeon for his advice (and if I were you I would consult more than one) because he will choose the best implant size, shape, softness, position for your body type.
For example I always thought that high profiles would be the best for me (since I have a small chest) however my surgeon told me that I should go for medium profile otherwise the implant would have shown under my skin because I had little breast tissue to cover it. Since the base of a medium profile implant is slightly wider, I don't have a large gap between my boobs either. So don't worry about being too small to have implants, there is a solution for everybody

Re: Gappy Boobs!
I must admit having a look at all your profile pics...they all look really well done.
I'm glad I'm not the only one worried about it, was feeling bad about my question. With so many surgeons to choose from-how do you narrow them down to a handful to see them?

Re: Gappy Boobs!
I think I would start by looking at their webiste and look for their before and after pictures (even though this is a bit tricky because they only show the best ones). Also, if you have friends/relatives that already had a BA see if they recommend their clinic/surgeon.
Then you have the BEST OPTION... this forum Try to find other girls from your area and see what they say. Preparing for a BA takes a lot of research. Here are a few threads to start with... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Gappy Boobs!
Aw sunshine thank you, but I think yours are perfect!! In all honesty I'm just wearing a really good bra but I didn't tell anyone I was having a BA (except for my mam and bf) so I like that I can tone them down if I want. Though I get terrible boob greed and wouldn't say no to more cc's lol
Kenzie you have come to the right place honey and anything you need to know/ask you'll always get the best advice as the girls on here are amazing. When I first came on here I didn't know the first thing about boobs or plastic surgeons, so there is no such thing as a dumb question hun, we've all been there! :)

Re: Gappy Boobs!
As all the girls have said depends what look you want to achieve, I wanted natural, not round stuck on like Victoria Beckham ( not that I don't like that look just not for me) so my surgeon gave me what I wanted. However I have a large gap between my boobs which I had before my op the surgeon did say I would still have a large gap, I was chuffed coz personally I like the big gap and if I want to close the gap I just use the correct bra he he he. Re: Gappy Boobs!
I had hardly anything beforehand and am now in a D sports bra (nearly 3 weeks post op). I do feel as though there is a gap between my boobs, but as people have already said, I had one beforehand. It's not really wide & am not concerned about it, but I had virtually no upper pole & had high profile implants. At the moment, they're still very firm & haven't settled down yet, so do have a bit of the 'stuck on' look. I'm hoping they'll settle & soften in the coming months! But for you, I'd advise to ask as many questions as you can at consultation & have as many consultations as you realistically can. Make sure you make your concerns clear to the surgeons & get the answers you need to make a decision on what to do, that's best for you.

Re: Gappy Boobs!
my surgeon is extremely to the point and he put it as simply as this... whatever gap you have there beforehand, the same gap will remain afterwards. the same he said about the way your nipples will point. obviously they will point funny while theyre dropping and stuff but generally when theyre healed your nip nips will point the way they did before xx

Re: Gappy Boobs!
You girlies have def answered my questions....tnh i didnt realise there was so much choice in implants etc. Those were a- couple of my small concerns and im feeling even more positive about getting this done.
My sister had hers done when she was around 20 and then 29....she doesnt really talk about or seem comfortable talking about it.Luckily i have you girls.
I have to admit it i do have boob envy-roll on the BA!!

Couldn't agree more with what Lucky said sweetheart
BJSF is a 'Support Forum' Kenzie, we're not here to judge you or anyone babes, we're here to help and guide you as you embark on your BA Journey, so ask all you need lovely, if we're able to help you we will and if we all can't, guess what??? We have back-up!!!! We're very fortunate to have a BAAPs registered surgeon onboard here also, so anything we (us girls) cant help you with, you know there's an 'expert' always at hand should you need him. xx
Re: Gappy Boobs!
You couldnt have chosen a better forum Kenzie,
I have had brilliant help on here, for my quest for my first BA lol.
Nobody understands me at home, I felt like I was going it alone, I dont
know anyone from friends or family that have had a BA, so was really
happy to find this site, and the post op girls on here that are giving me
amazing advise and support to offer.
I do know that if you have a cleavage thats too close it can cause complications as to what Misf has said already
So just wanted to welcome you to the forum huni! Enjoy!

The problem wouldn't be from having a naturally close cleavage, problems can be caused by choosing an implant to wide for your body frame to try and create a closer cleavage, this can sometimes result in a complication called 'symmastia' babe. xxx
Re: Gappy Boobs!
I always had a gap, so knew I'd have one after surgery too. I showed my PS loads of pics that I liked of boobs with gaps to be realistic. I also showed him one that I really didn't want, where there's a gap and a very well defined sudden protrusion of the implants, like stuck on oranges or grapefruits.
In my individual case, and because I wanted overs even though I'm lean, but still wanted a natural look, moderate profile was the best option since it allowed a more natural transition between the gap and the implants.
The final results depend on so many factors. I do think it's really important to communicate with your surgeon what you like and don't like, and make sure you show him/her pictures of both xxx
