silly question but sports bra how tight?
This might be a silly question, but how tight/snug are sports bras supposed to be? I was wearing a 36DD but as I am usually a 34 back it started getting a bit slack especially now the dressings are off so I have changed to 34E which fits well but feels quite snug..is that okay? I am worried the band might rub on my scars but I do have the steri strips on..?

Your bra sounds just fine hun. The sports bra should be snug but not tight and your breasts should feel well supported, no moving about, firm and snug, but no buldging. If you do get any irritation from the band, try taping a panty liner to the bans, or a sanitary towel if you'd prefer more of a cushion, just to cushion the skin from the band until the scar feels better. xx

Hi MrsH, only just seen this (I am rubbish without notifications ha ha).
I am feeling a lot better than last week, up and about but not too much as things still tire me out quickly. Boobies are tender still, just had first shower which was good but was a bit scared lol and also experienced horrible faint/sickness feeling after taking my stupid steri strips off! But all in all recovering well thank you hun

Re: silly question but sports bra how tight?
I have had 2 b a and both times was told to buy my normal size which is what I did and they were fine. I would have thought its the cup size that goes up coz I was an a cup before and was told I would be about a DD and to buy 38 DD sports bra so did that and it fitted. This b a my boobs have come out slightly bigger coz in a normal bra I am now an E .Maybe do what Cookie says and buy 2 sizes and keep labels on and take back what you dont needxx

If you're a 34 band with for example a resulting size of a DD then I'd buy the 34DD, a 36DD (to accommodate any swelling) and a 34E (just I case you're a cup size larger) This way, you cover all bases lol. Keep all receipts of your bras so you can take back those you don't use.
You can cancel out the larger band size if you'd prefer and just buy some cheap bra expanders that will widen the band on your 34 bras for you until the swelling has reduced. Xx
Re: silly question but sports bra how tight?
ahh yeah good idea thanks cookie.
I think ive decided on 34 band size macom bra bcoz they just expand to ur bust not a particular size n theyve had good reviews and then just to get some asda general sports bras and a tesco high impact sports bra. do u think that would be enough? i got told just to get general sports bras but don't want them to not be supportive enough as ive seen alot of people have got the shock absorber ones aswell. xx

Re: silly question but sports bra how tight?
You only need 2 sports bras babe, one to wear, one for the wash and change as you go.
I personally don't like Asda/Tesco sports bras, they feel great at first, but after a couple of washes any support that was there is gone (from my personal experience of wearing them)
After your BA, your breasts need stability, this is the reason you're requested to wear a 'high impact' sports bra, so maybe just get the one Macom bra you need for now, don't worry about leaving that on for a week until you have your first post-op appointment, infact the less movement you give your boobs the better! so you then have time to save for another bra of your choice, rather than spending on bras that you're 'settling for' xx
