Newbie wanting BA and uplift Empty Newbie wanting BA and uplift

Post by 5stonedown 4th June 2012, 9:15 pm

Hi I am new to this forum. I was booked in with Mr Russo at MYA for an uplift and BA after losing 5 stone in weight!! It all went wrong though as Mr Russo has been suspended by the GMC and therefore my surgery was cancelled. I have decided to go elswhere but I was wondering if anyone has any surgeon recommendations. I live in North Wales but I will travel anywhere in the UK for the right surgeon. I am considering Mrs CC Kat in Birmingham as I have heard she is a great surgeon but her specialty appears to be tummy tucks and I cant find many people who have had her perform breast surgery.

Well done on the 5 stone loss hun, that's fantastic. It does seem quite a few people are affected by Mr Russos suspension. I have heard of Mrs Kat, but I dont really know anything more. Have a look through our BA and uplifts section and have a chat to those that have had it done. For a lift I would recommend you look at breast reconstructive surgeons, just so you get the best results possible.

Thank you. That is why I am thinking about Mrs Kat as she performs reconstruction surgery both privately and for the NHS.

Hello and welcome to BJSF 5stonedown Newbie wanting BA and uplift 399357

Firstly let me congratulate you on your wonderful and amazing weightloss! Well done you! You must be so proud of yourself! Newbie wanting BA and uplift 321562

I wouldn't personally travel too far away from home sweetness as you have to think about after care and the travelling that's going to entail for your post-op check-ups and then there's the possibility of complications post-op which could require even more travelling for you. For example, my breasts had a bleed post-op and I had to return constantly to my clinic for wound checks and to have my dressings changed as they were sodden and it was a lot of uncomfortable travel for me and my clinic isnt that far away, the thought of having to do that kind of travelling a long way a way... well I don't think I could have done it, but it's your call lovely..

Mr Russo has caused many women like yourself great concerns in having to find a surgeon to replace him and I really do feel for all of you.

I'd personally request a list of surgeons from different clinics working in your area, you could always request surgeons that work specifically in uplifts but I will guarantee you'll get the surgeons with an open slot the clinic wants to fill with a surgeon so request them all lovely.

We'll be here to help you as much as you can. Check the surgeons qualifications on the GMC register and also BAAPs/BAPRAS if you'd prefer a surgeon with those qualifications. If you find a surgeon is foreign, do check they are on a specialist register for plastic surgery in the UK and with an uplift, I personally would want a surgeon qualified in reconstruction surgery as well. It sounds like a lot of effort but you'll soon draw up a short list then you can ask the girls here of their opinions of the surgeons you short listed.

Good luck searching babes, go for a few consults and ensure you're completely happy with your decision before signing anything lovely. xx

I have heard CC Kat is very good, i have only read great things on her, i was going to go for a consultation with her, but it wasnt so easy for me to get to Birmingham like cookie said, you dont want to be too far away, or it be too awkward to get to like lots of train changes etc..as you will have to keep going back for post op appointments and if anything was to go wrong, the last thing you will be wanting to do is travel hours back to see your surgeon.

Hi, big congratulations on the weight loss, wow!!

I would agree with Cookie, you dont want to be too far away from your clinic. However I would still reccomend Mr Sultan Hassan for your uplift & BA. He did mine 7 weeks ago and I am absolutely thrilled with the results so far. Hes a surgeon for The Hosptial Group, I had mine done in Bromsgrove in the West Midlands. I think he has a clinic in Nottingham as well.

Good Luck with the search!
