Not having much luck with finding a sports bra
Hi all,
Does anyone recommend a comfortable and supportive bra to wear after my op?
I have been shopping today and not found hardly anything. I looked in Asda (where PC said they were £4.00 each couldn't find any!), BHS, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer. My PC said to buy a band size bigger and one in a DD and one in an E but I think I am wearing the wrong band size at the mo? I wear a 34 just so I don't get that horrible flabby bit ha ha but I think I might be a 32 so do I get a 34 or a 36?
I don't even know what I am really looking for? Something that does up at the front? ahhhh
xx

Re: Not having much luck with finding a sports bra
I've had every kind of sports bra I could get my hands on! I found ones from Tesco were ideal for out and about, they show a bit of cleavage and don't look too sports bra-ish under clothes!
Shock Absorbers have been by far the best for support! I found the run one the softest but there's a silly clasp at the back which isn't great for sleeping! Shock Absorber b109 is great for support, easy to get in and out of.
Get a band size bigger for while you have swelling, I wore a 34D for the first two weeks then when it became slack around the back wore a 32DD!
It's what you find comfiest there's no right or wrong for which brand just make sure they're designed for high impact and fit snug without feeling too tight. Maybe try a few on in Debenhams then look on eBay for cheaper versions!! X

Oh I forgot to say get abra that's a bigger band size than u actually r because of the swelling straight after the op. Im normally a 34 so I got a 36 then after a couple of weeks of constantly wearing that one I went down to a 34 again xx in proper bras though I'm a 32! Xxxx

I find the shock absorber to be the best, so good I have two! Have a little look on ebay for them, and debenhams should be going into sale soon and im sure they'll have them reduced, they always do :) x

My PS's nurse recommended the Freya active soft touch sports bra, so I've got one of them ready for my op next week xx

Re: Not having much luck with finding a sports bra
I'm confused I was told by the nurse to get the same band size I am now and that was transform and they have told yous to get a size bigger. Has she told me wrong? I just don't want to be uncomfortable or irritate my scars and waste money on something that's no good for them. Should I definately be looking for a high impact sports bra? sports bras are hard to find in the places the nurse told me to get them from and when I do find one they never have the size I need all I see is post surgery wireless bras and wireless support bras are they any good or should it definately be a sports bra, I would just get a macom bra because I have heard good things but I have heard some places tell u not 2 wear them, I have read good things about the tesco high impact sports bra but they don't have it on the website and my closest tesco clothes part it tiny and never has anything so I really doubt it would be there, people seem to like shock absorber too so I might have to look into those, help I'm over thinking this too much xx

Re: Not having much luck with finding a sports bra
I have had 2 b a's and was told just to get my normal size and I did, got mine from sainsburys hun only £5 each, asda ones are a bit low cut to support them I think. Got a shock absorber off amazon , Very supportive but I found them a touch too tight to wear for long periods. They are expensive though. xx
