petite girl too small!?! :-(
Hi I am 2 days post - op and it is difficult to tell as dressings still on and swollen but I feel like Im too small and was wondering if any one can relate their experience?
I am very petite (4'11" 39kg - normally approx 44kg) and have lost quite a bit of weight after having my baby a year ago. Due to this I emphasised to my surgeon I did not want to look out of proportion. He initially recommended 230cc to me and I tried them and asked to try the 270 or 300. At the consultation I wasnt sure, I was trying to consider what I would look like when I get back to my normal weight also. He told me to try the dry rice test, which I did, and took into account it wasnt 100% accurate. I did feel though the 270cc looked ridiculous on me as Im so tiny!
Anyway on the day of surgery he asked me whether to go ahead with 270-300 and I re-emphasised I wanted to look in proportion and felt maybe 230/240 would be better but I wanted to leave it up to him when in theatre, if it looked too small then I would go with the 270.
After coming out of surgery I became quite upset, as I immediately felt my breasts and thought they were far too small. He decided to go for 240cc. Im now 2 days post op and Im not sure, but I still think they are too small. If they stay the way they are, (come in a bit and drop) then I will be happy, but I was under the impression the swelling makes them a lot bigger in the first few weeks
Can anyone give me advice or reassure me??

It's swelling thats causing all the fullness through the upper pole of your breast right now Katy, as your skin/muscles start to relax and the swelling settles, the implant falls to the same shape as an anatomical implant, this will then fill out the lower pole of your breast. As this happens the breast protrudes forwards and this is what we call the 'fluffing' stage.
This diagram might help you better understand sweetheart -
At just 2 days post-op it's very common for the 'post-op blues' to kick in too Katy, when this happens, you just stop thinking rationally hun and panic about all sorts of things and it can make you feel quite down and depressed for a little while. Boob greed is a very common side effect of the post-op blues, so it's very normal how your feeling right now but, be assured.... it DOES pass.

I'm much bigger than you, 5'6'' 60kg. I have 240cc too, I'm very happy with them. That same size goes a longer way on someone your size than mine.
I'm over seven weeks post op, I've been the same size for the past seven weeks, no change xxx

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
Thanks girls!
Cookie, never mind 2 days post op, I was weepy in hospital!! Only because when I told the nurse how I felt she read what my surgeon had documented and it said 'rather be smaller than bigger' which is not what I said, I said I wanted to be more natural looking!!
Anyway, I realise its very early days and there probably is a bit of the boob greed going on!
Your info was very helpful Cookie, I understand the 'drop and fluff' thing now, so its very reassuring!!
And Roxanne, thanks so much for your post hun, I maybe was just comparing myself too much to other girls who have posted on here (which is a tad silly given I am so tiny and dont have average measurements) but your the first Ive read whos had the same so that makes me feel better and yours look amazing!
Roxanne looks like you had Nagor overs like me, are you a 32D? I think thats what I am, which if I stay this size I will be happy :-)

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
Thanks katy! I think I'm due for updating my avi, that was only days after my op.
I'm a 32d sports bra. I'm stuck wearing sports bras for three months because I had a mastopexy. I did buy a non wired push up bra because I asked my ps if I could occasionally wear a normal bra every now and again for a few hours, which he said was fine (eg. evening out), though I've only done this twice. I bought a 32d, it fits nicely, and a little snug My number one priority other than being perky again, hence the mastopexy, was looking natural.
There's really no point comparing yourself to others, we're all different. But one things for sure 240 will look bigger on your frame than mine since your petite

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
I guess so! Its not an exact science but unfortunately Ive got one of those analytical minds lol! I was a 30/32b/c at my normal weight but after breastfeeding and dramatic weight loss ended up a saggy 28/30 a (boak!). As long as its a decent improvement on that (which I know it will be) then i'll be happy!!
Will post a pic on here after Monday (dressings removed!) and you can let me know what you think!
So glad I found this forum...:-) thanks again hun xx

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
Love my kids, but my boobs afterwards, oh my though it was well worth it! I was perky and firm before, but ended up empty and saggy. It's great to have nice looking boobs again! If you'd put before and after pics of my pre baby and post baby boobs, you wouldn't guess they were the same pair
Let me know when your pics are up then. I love this forum too, everyone's so nice xxx

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
Hi lil.miss.katy, welocme to the forum!! I can't believe that there's someone that's actually smaller than me. I'm also very tiny, 5ft1, 43kg, clothing size 6/8. I had 285cc under the muscle and I think anything bigger than 300cc would have looked ridiculous. So I agree with Roxanne and think that you are on the right track. In the beginning mine looked "compressed", then they were a little bit swollen, and now they are becoming softer by the day. I look forward to see your avatar to understand more your situation and then I can comment again ;) Happy healing!!!

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
Hi I'll.miss.katy, I'm also very tiny framed. I'm same stats as xaxa. I had 300 overs. I'm measuring a 28 E or 30DD. It's a long process getting used to your new boobs, lots of changes happen. You will start to enjoy them when you're all healed and able to wear some pretty bras. Just in time for the Summer! I have often wondered if mine are too small, but then we get a lovely sunny day yesterday and I started to worry mine looked too big! ( us ladies are never happy!). I'm just not used to wearing vest tops as llast year I was a AA cup size ( having my babies and breastfeeding for an eternity did my boobs no favours) and I avoided vest tips like the plague. I'm sure having your new assets will bring you lots of joy. Happy healing xx

Thanks girls!
Yes Im beginning to be reassured and even just in 24 hours am starting to like them more! Im sure, from what Ive read, I will have up and down feelings towards them initially, certainly now when I cant see them properly!
Smallblue, I know it was glorious today and Im having to wear high necked tops as my dressings are way up at my breastbone :-( Cant wait to get them on display!!
I measured myself properly and Im currently a 28/30D/DD so that aint so bad at all....I actually hope I get a nice D cup eventually....??
From what Ive read a lot of people go up one cup size when they fluff and drop, although some dont. I just think Id be too tiny to carry off an E cup and Im trying to be discreet about the whole thing for various reasons! Mind you, Im aware a fake boob size isnt as big as a real boob size!
Eeeek.....its exciting but frustrating as well that once you have them done, you dont just get your boobage and size......lorra patience to be practised!!!
Thanks so much girls for all your advice xxxxxx

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
I can totally relate to those up and down feelings you're having, in my time PO I've had days where I've thought mine were way too big, way too small and just right! It's such a long process to see the final result, but I'm sure when you were in theatre your surgeon thought about what looks best on you.. You are a very petite person so you'd probably get results you didn't ask for should you have gone bigger!
I'm sure in a few weeks time when your dressings are removed, your boobs are settling and you can start wearing nice bra's you'll look and feel perfectly proportioned! As I keep telling myself (and getting told)... You just have to be patient :) xx

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
You're right altw. just need to remind myself when I feel they aren't big enough, how unhappy I would be/silly they would look if they were too big!!
Can see your surgery was nearly 4 weeks ago.....are you wearing your sports bra day and night?

Exactly! And also focus on what an improvement they are compared to before, it's easy to be overly critical! But I do totally understand your feelings :)
I'm still in sports bras too for another couple of weeks, I can't wait to get measured and see how I can dress them up etc and finally get some pretty bras!

Re: petite girl too small!?! :-(
Also lil miss katy, if you are planning to put a little weight back on this may increase your boobie size a bit too. I think once they drop and settle you will be very happy with them and that they will be in proportion with the size of you xx

Hi pandapop and welcome to the site
Sizing is such a difficult thing to predict as someone with the same stats and implant size can turn out a completley different sizes...different bodies just take the implants differently
Have you done the rice test? Not too accurate but will give you a general idea xx
