Re: Helloooo :) Ladies is the Northwest
Hi again KS4111
I had my op at Spire Liverpool just last week. Mr Graham my surgeon works for the NHS & also privately at Spire & BMI Beaumont Bolton.
I had consultations at Spire & Transform but just knew that once I'd met Mr Graham nobody else would compare.
Like Dizzydi said, you need to have a couple of consultations, at least, to get a feel for the surgeons and clinics & then see what aftercare policies they have and if they are acceptable to you.
I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, but I'm by no means an expert and it's just my own opinion x

You might find this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] helpful to you babe.
You've had some good advise about seeing a few surgeons before making any decisions hun, I might also add that you don't get taken in by any 'offers' that might get thrown at you, if it's on the table then, no matter how much they tell you it's a one day only offer, it's not! The offer will still be there should you decide to book with a clinic offering hat they deem to be 'discounts'
Also sweetness, never book straight away, give yourself time to come away with the info and digest hat you've been told. feel free to discuss here with us or ask our qualified surgeons any concerns you might have and then you could always have a 2nd consultation if you like a specific surgeon before making up your mind.
Don't rush hun, it's a big decision, take your time, do your research and we're here for you all the way! xx

I think i will have to have 'unders' if thats right as my mum had BC so i need to be able to have mamograms.
How much time of owrk did you guys have? Ive got 12 days off in sept and was hoping this would be enough bt now not so sure

Re: Helloooo :) Ladies is the Northwest
Everybody recovers differently, but I had unders and feel as if I could have gone back to work today, maybe yesterday - so 9 days post op.
Luckily, I'm not back until Monday, so should be raring to go by then!
Still not sure I could lift anything heavy though, but not a worry for me at work. My discharge notes say that I'm not allowed to iron or hoover for 3 weeks either and I'm taking full advantage of this!

Re: Helloooo :) Ladies is the Northwest
Personally..... I'd avoid Transform like the plague, but that's from my own personal experience, others highly rate Transform.
You could always call the clinics you're interested in and ask for a list of their surgeons working in your area. From the list you can then do your own research on each surgeon and when you find the one you're happiest with just call the clinic ask for a consultation and go from there. xx

Welcome to the forum, good luck with finding the right surgeon. It's a bit of a headache but once you decide it will be worth it

Re: Helloooo :) Ladies is the Northwest
Hi, I replied to your pm already but wanted to say a little congratulations on deciding to book a consult ... its the first step
I think you will have a gut feeling which surgeon you are happiest with when youve met a couple of them. I instantly liked mine, he was reasurringly knowledgeable but also quite down to earth the way he spoke to me and explained the procedures - made it seem so much less daunting.
One of the best things Ive ever done!

Can I just ask - Cookie, why did you have a bad experience with Transform, and what clinic/ surgeon did you have? X

My boobie journey started with Transform 5 years ago, my journey to repair my breasts is still ongoing with Transform to date... if you've some time to read my diary, grab yourself a coffee and you can read for yourself [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
In my honest opinion, from my own experience, my own research and from being on this site for over 2 years and having seen countless women pass through, it's the largest commercial clinics that are the biggest nightmare (should you have a complication that needs revision) If you're asking me which clinic would I use now if I had my time over... Without a doubt I'd go with Spire and choose Douglas McGeorge (that's just my choice having taken my own daughter for a consultation to see him after being referred to him by a friend who's boobs are the best I've ever seen) he also has his own private practice too, but it would be worth weighing up the after-care between the two if he was of interest to you . MyBreast are also very good and in both Spire and MyBreast all the surgeons are BAAPs registered and both these clinics seem very good from my experience talking to women here and really care for their post-op patients should they have a problem. If you're refused a re-op by your surgeon in those 2 clinics, your case goes to a board of surgeons to review rather than the decision of one person only which is how the commercial clinics work, so you get a much fairer shot to have revision done free taking advantage of your after-care.
This is just my own personal opinion though, there are lots of women who are thrilled with the service of the commercial clinics and would go back time and time again. xxx
Re: Helloooo :) Ladies is the Northwest
I wouldnt go with transform either some girls are really happy but there are others that arn't and i hear getting re-op with transform can be difficult and they will try and fob you off sometimes.... thats not from my experience either but i will not go with transform for this reason knowing i have the best after care is most important to me... second to my surgeon of course lol
Im going to see a small company called sthetix with a Mr Alvi in Liverpool.. only heard good things so far. ! x
