I was told not to drink the whole week beforehand.
Some websites say no alcohol for 2 weeks!

I guess alcohol thins your blood a little but seriously is one glass of wine going to be hovering around in your system until Monday? I think not. I'd go for it myself (but then again I'd choose wine over water lol) x

I think it's because alcohol reduces blood clotting - have you ever cut yourself when you're drunk? It bleeds and bleeds and bleeds and bleeds!
But whether it still has any effect after 2 days ?? I guess it depends how much you drink ;)

It should be out of your system but I was advised no drinking two weeks prior to my op and stuck to it. It's not worth it for any possible issues it could give you (although 3 days before surgery is exactly when you want half a bottle of wine!) x

Re: BA on Monday....can I have a glass of wine tonite?
The Mybreast pre-op guidelines I was sent say not to drink alcohol for 24 hours before the op??? I plan on not drinking well before that anyhow, and I suspect these guidelines I was sent are not for heavy bige drinking, but more for a glass or two max.

Woah hlt67 - I just noticed that you snuck that one in under the radar girl! You have a great time - in a few months you'll feel so good about your own assets that you'll be whipping your top off and joining them on stage to uproarous applause!!!

Re: BA on Monday....can I have a glass of wine tonite?
think one or two small ones woulnt be too bad? I wasnt advised not to and I had a glass of red with my dinner the night before.
I asked DF about this (in case I missed anything in the paperwork as he's more the fine print studier!) and he said he didnt read anything that said no alcohol in the pre-surgery notes that we had from the BMI.
