I am guessing a week or two too. I can't imagine you will be upto it any less than that to be honest. I like a glass of wine now and again, i'm 1 week post op and not feeling like one just yet. I might think different come the weekend. xxx

Re: A glass of wine !!!
Ah I'm so glad I'm not the only one who would be interested in an answer on this one!
However I did have two large glasses of wine at 10 days post op (wasn't sure if I should have!) & I was very sick! Wasn't sure if this was a combination of not having had wine for a few weeks or because my body didn't like it so soon after the BA. I shall be easing back in gently from now on!!! Lol xxx

Re: A glass of wine !!!
I waited 7 days, but mostly because when I drink I want to smoke ciggies and I wanted to wait a week to do that.
Some girlies are lucky and get served a glass in the hospital while in recovery!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My doctor said 1 week though.
I was VERY interested in having that glass of wine LOL

Re: A glass of wine !!!
Hi Sparkyleeds,
Some PS say that you should wait until you are off the meds others say 2 weeks. Mine said 2-3 weeks but I had my first drink yesterday and I am feeling quite sore today Not sure whether I would have felt this way anyway but I would say 2-3 weeks post op would be fine!
LOL yesterday - I was well drunk on one little drink! Cant wait till this weekend, I'll probably feel more comfortable having a few more drinks being 3 weeks post op x

Re: A glass of wine !!!
Oh yes, good point biggerboobs....I was off all my meds at 7 days - I would not drink on either the pain meds or the antibiotics, since it apparently makes them less effective

Re: A glass of wine !!!
I had a drink after I came off the meds, which was about 5 days post-op. I didn't really feel like drinking at all while I was on them, so I had my first drink just when I felt like having one, really! Didn't get told not to, at all... even being on tramadol!
