Scar massage - popping sound
Anyone else heard/felt a popping or cracking sound/sensation when massaging their scars? Had it on both scars this morning and the surrounding skin was extra sore for a couple of hours afterwards. I'm really hoping it was scar tissue breaking up. It was pretty squirmy

This is really common. I had it too - almost felt like popping bubble wrap, or rice crispies. I thought it was my stitches splitting inside and had a panic, but it's nothing to worry about. Just little pockets of air dispersing inside. It may happen again if you run your finger along the incision sites, but you shouldn't experience it again after that. All part of the healing - not everyone notices this tho.

Not pleasant at all . Minxie got it just right when she compared it to rice krispies - yuk!!!
Am going to ask my 15 yr old DD to help me tonight and let her deal with it. That's if she wants me to cook pancakes for her!!!

Re: Scar massage - popping sound
Quick update on popping scars for those who're interested.
The knots that were in my incisions have packed their bags and left this morning!
Could it be due to the massage and popping of scar tissue? Hope so but either way, if any of you girls have knotty scars out there, I recommend a few minutes circular kneading with some kind of cream (I am using vit E mixed with E45) and try not to puke if they start popping and cracking . I'm lifting up my arm so that the mondors cords are evident and including them as well by the way.
