Popping sensation after my op?
Hi all,
I have asked a few ladies and just wanted to check the current popping sensation i appear to be having in between my boobs is a normal thing??? They are itching like crazy but i believe this is just them healing.
Also if the bad of the sports bra is to tight will this delay healing on the incisions or cause raising of the scar???
Many thanks
xx

Re: Popping sensation after my op?
Hi hun, popping or a farting noise or an air bubble type feeling are completely normal. If the band of the sports bra is too tight it shouldn't really do you any damage, but could make you very uncomfortable. If you feel your bra is too tight in the band try a bra extender or buy a bigger band size until the swelling has gone down.

It is funny, I didn't have the popping. I had what I can only describe as you know when you are really hungry your tummy rumbles.
I had that feeling in my boobs lol. They do some weird stuff but it goes quite quickly.

Re: Popping sensation after my op?
ha ha not the boob queen, just been on here a long time and learn't not only from my own experience but other peoples too.
I did have the god awful itching though, it drove me literally insane especially when it moved to my scars as well as my boobs. I will tell you what I was advised, keep boobs (not scars) well moisturised, I used palmers cocoa butter and bio oil, cold compresses (bag of frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel, antihistamines. The cold compresses were great for scars and boobs and the anti histamines, I just used my hayfever tablets things like piriton or even sainsburys own brand.
I found after the itchy stage came the flaky skin stage, so the skin stretching causes itching and then when it starts renewing itself the flaky horrible stage came, I was taking moisturiser every where with me, just chucking it on all the time. Try not to wear a black bra during this time, I did and it grossed me out yuk! Don't get anything on scars until you are instructed to do so.

Re: Popping sensation after my op?
I can't say you wont get stretch marks as some people do, but if they do they dont seem to get many and they fade silver very quickly. I went from an A cup to a FF and I didn't get any, I was terrified I would as I am prone to them, my thighs, hips and bum are testimony to this but I decided pre BA to make sure I did everything I could to reduce the chances of stretchmarks, so I covered my boobs in bio oil and palmers cocoa butter all the time, I was so determined. I dont know if this helped, but it made me feel better and I knew I'd done everything I could to prevent them.
Re: Popping sensation after my op?
Haha, I had the popping on the top of my left boob... it was so bizzare, and then I had like gurgling as well. I had to mute the TV and put my ear to my chest to make sure. It was so funny, but there was no one around to share it with.
Mine are driving my crazy itching underneath.... and because it's round the scars I have to be really careful and scratch around them.
My cold compress has been amazing, they ease the aching and the itching so much. I picked one up from boobs and it's been amazing.
Oh gosh, my boobs have litereally started itching... so typical the minute I start typing about it.

E45 cream, aloe vira and vitamin E cream/oil and coconut oil are also products I can highly recomend (bio oil has vit E in it) I liked palmers cocoa butter and used it the most as it prevents stretchmarks too lol. I chucked it all on for months. When you can bath I also highly recomend tea tree oil ( a few drops) in your bath as it is so good for your skin it's unbelieveable.
Pregnant and breast-feeding women should avoid the use of Tea Tree Oil.
Undiluted Tea Tree Oil can cause itchiness, irritation, and redness on sensitive skin. Therefore, if you have sensitive skin, it is always safer to dilute the oil in another base oil such as olive oil.
Pure Tea Tree Oil should never be taken internally in its undiluted form. Extra care should be taken when using it near the eyes, genitals, or even as a mouthwash. If taken internally, Tea Tree Oil can result in diarrhea, vomiting, impaired immune function, excessive drowsiness, sleepiness, confusion, poor coordination, and even coma. If you notice any of these symptoms of overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
so do not drink it - ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tea tree oil has beneficial medical properties when applied topically, including antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral action,[2] and is also believed to have beneficial cosmetic properties.[3] Tea tree oil is usually used diluted, as reactions are common with pure tea tree oil, but it can also cause irritation for some people even when diluted. Tea tree oil is toxic when taken internally, and so should never be added to food or drinks.

Tea Tree Oil has wonderful properties that makes it a popular natural agent for curing all three types of infectious organisms: fungus, bacteria, and virus. More importantly, it is known to effectively fight a number of infections that are resistant to some antibiotics. Therefore, Tea Tree Oil is an excellent natural remedy for hundreds of bacterial and fungal skin ailments such as acne, abscess, oily skin, blisters, sun burns, athlete's foot, warts, herpes, insect bites, rashes, dandruff and other minor wounds and irritations.
Studies have shown that Tea Tree Oil also treats respiratory problems ranging from common sore throats, coughs and runny nose to severe conditions such as asthma, tuberculosis, and bronchitis. The anti-viral properties of the oil fight many common infectious diseases such as chicken pox, shingles and measles, flu, cold sores and verrucae. It also strengthens the body's immune system, which is often weakened by stress, illness, or by the use of antibiotics and other drugs. It can also be used as a mouth wash, since it is highly effective in healing oral candidiasis (a fungal infection of mouth and throat).
