Are Allergan CUI implants PIPs?
Hi Ladies,
Sorry if this topic has already been covered elsewhere but I did a search and couldn't find an answer.
I had Allergan CUI implants with Transform in 2009.
I haven't had any problems (touch wood) but due to the reports in the news regarding PIP implants recently, I thought I'd dig out by booklet and check what I had.
Are these implants PIP implants or are they okay?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Are Allergan CUI implants PIPs?
Hi Marie,
I believe PIP is the name of the company that make the implants and they are not the same as Allergan CUI implants.
(I hope so anyway as I am having CUIs put in soon!)

Ah I see thanks! TBH I don't even know what PIPs are? Are they a type of implant like CUIs??!!
I'm pretty sure that I researched into this and checked with Transform before I had my op so fingers crossed we're okay!
Hopefully some of the other ladies will be along soon to confirm for us!

Definitely not the same thing. Just found this "Breast implants by French firm Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) were banned in 2010 after they were found to contain industrial grade silicone gel, rather than medical grade."
So the company name is PIP. Our ones are made by Allergan, on the CUI leaflet that shows the dimensions it says Allergan Norden AB which is the Swedish branch of Allergan. Definitely not the same thing.

Thanks hunni, wish the days would hurry up! The closer it gets the slower they go!!
That said Saturday is when I have to stop drinking, stop my vitamins, start avoiding Ibruprofen and aspirin if I need painkillers so think it will all feel more real then!
