wondering about my 16 month old?? Empty wondering about my 16 month old??

Post by nat4andy 28th December 2011, 11:05 pm

Hiya ladies, iv been reading some posts and I find them.very helpfull but I was wondering about my lil boy, my husband will be taking a week off work, but I'm worried about lifting my lil boy when hes back at work. He isn't walking properly yet and I normally lift him into his high chair and lift him into his cot at nap times and bed times, the nurse said bend with my legs and pick him up and not stretch with my arms but worrying about lifting him. Sorry if it sounds stupid but I worry about the tiniest thing and don't want to put too much pressure on my body. help

my daughter was 17 months when i had my op and i didnt lift her at all for the first week but then when bf was back to work so i didnt have a choice although i did make sure the lifting was only as necessary and limited my trips upstairs for a few more days. By two weeks i was pretty much back to normal and actually my daughter became more independant during this time too!! xxx

I had my BA when my first son was 11 months old. No lifting for the first week but then i lifted the week after, no choice really. I found ways of lifting without hurting me & i was fine x

Thanks ladies, ill have to see what's best when the time comes. I can bum shuffle with him on my knees when going down stairs and he can climb upstairs so ill have to limit it to picking him up when going in cot and high chair xx

HI hun, I had a 10 month old when I had my surgery, I was fine as long as I bent my knees and lifted her carefully. You should be feeling a lot better after a week, don't panic x X X

Hi hun, I had a 20 month old at the time of my op. I had help the first week but by week 2 was back to normal! I was just careful not to lift him unless necessary and didn't push the pushchair until 3 weeks post op. it was fine, just as long as you are careful not to overdo it xxx

My boy was 18 months I didn't lift him for weeks I had a little chair that he sat at the coffee table with to eat his lunch rather than his high chair and at nap time he joined me in my bed I just pushed him up with my knee instead of lifting in and out of cot x you will find ways of doing things with them instead of lifting x
