bra size keeps on changing by shop!
Well I had a surprise in M&S yesterday.
I have been wearing bras I bought from Ann Summers.
I used their on-line measurement guide and at a 32 rib measure and 38 around fullest part I calculated from their 'add four guide' thingumy that I needed a 36D bra. I know this measurement system is mostly outdated but it seemed to work cos the bras I went to try on in the shop fit great.
So anyway - i found a bra I liked in M&S and the fitting lady helped me. She measured me and came back with a 32E - I laughed - but I tried it on anyway and it feels ok (maybe a little snug but she assured me its meant to be like this and not loose at all) but the cups are a bit too full I think, I prefer something with a little less coverage.
But guess what - I bought it anyway - welllllll its a E cup! and for someone who used to buy As and maybe B's for chicken fillets its fairly amazing!
I want to wear it inside-out so that the label shows but then Im sposed to be keeping it quiet arnt I ?!?! Bum
P.S. I just checked on misf1's sticky about measuring for a bra and calculated a 32E is right. Its confusing to my old brain. xx

Thats great news!!
Bra measurements are soooo confusing..i measure 26 round the ribs, and have always worn a 32 band, coz thats the smallest i could find, and they fit fine! But really i should be wearing something much smaller..tho im sure this would feel really tight compared to what im used to....

I think I feel more comfy in the 34 band width sizes. I measure just under 32 inches so you'd think a 32 bra would fit but I think its a bit tight. Bra fitting lady said that its supposed to be tighter than I have been wearing for support purposes - but Id like to breathe too

Re: bra size keeps on changing by shop!
i went to get a sports bra in tesco and they use the old system, which makes me a 34B, rather than the 30 DD i measure the modern way. i prefer the sound of 30DD!! very confusing i agree! my naturally big friends say always go and get bras fitted, but that means big expense unless its sale time! i'm hoping to hit the sales late as i'll be 4 weeks on 4th jan, an d get measured and fitted for a few bargains as i currently only have a 32C, which kind of fit but was riding up my back a bit.
