My surgeon didn't see me after Sx
I am on day 4 post BA. My surgeon didn't even come talk to me after the Sx. I am clueless as to what I should be doing, wearing, or taking. I am so frusterated. There were no post op instructions other than see him in a week. I did call the hospital this morning, however, they were not able to help me as they were not his nurses. One breast is more swollen than the other, and tight. Is this normal? Also, I read that other people are massaging theres? Do I need to do this as well? Mine are saline. Thank goodness for websites like this or I wouldn't have a clue!

don't massage, let a natural pocket grow around them. look after yourself but don't stay in bed all day. YOu'll be ok. Your boobs will be diferent sizes and funny shape for a few weeks. It'll be ok!

Hey hun I'm in US as well, I can tell you what my PS told me for aftercare: (I had unders too!)
Keep your arms at your sides.
You can shower, but blow dry your steristrips after so they're not sitting on you wet.
Take gentle walks around your house and then outside, starting as soon as possible (I did on day 2)
Drink TONS of water.
No lotions or oils on the boobies until the incisions heal.
No lifting, reaching, or bending over. Nothing over 5 lbs.
sleep upright, that'll help with drainage.
best thing for soreness is frozen peas on the boobies.
no massaging *(like springstep says, natural pocket should form)
vitamin C (1000 mg/day) can help with healing
no smoking or alcohol for 10 days (at least)
my rightie was firmer and higher too, you'll be fine.
happy healing hunni! xxx

Re: My surgeon didn't see me after Sx
I was told 12 weeks...I actually started last friday, but I notice I can wear it for the day, but have to take it off at night as the ribs are still achey a bit with the wire pushed against them all day.
I'm not sure what the concern is with underwire bras, if it's the incision or the "dropping" that they're worried about. I'd honestly wait and wear sportsbras, but there are girls on here who get to wear normal bras at 6 weeks and they're fine!
at 8 weeks I'd say you're probably fine though, esp if the PS said so! Avi is looking brill by the way
