Re: Nipple incisions?? scaring???
..I may not be of any help as I myself am pre ba , but I have heard that there is a higher risk of infection because they have to cut through ducts and stuff which contain natural bacteria that may spread to the surrounding tissue once cut open (but your ps may/should give you a dose of antibiotics during and after the op to help avoid infection any ways) . Plus I discovered all revision surgery and replacement of implants later have to be done through the inframammary incision (breast crease), so eventually a scar will be there anyway... myself, I just figure that if there's gonna be one there later, I may as well just have the one and they can go over it when they need to do a re-op for whatever reason (hopefully just to replace them after ten years! lol) But as I said I'm pre ba so other girls will prob have other info.

not exactly the same, but i had an uplift and the scars around my nipples are much more visible than the scars underneath my breasts. I wouldnt choose that as my incision personally. Underbreast crease is the best incision place for discrete scarring, and for easiest implant placement

hi diamond china, i had an anchor lift so have the scars around my nipple, they're not bad at all, but i agree with abbie, i'd go with the natural crease option xx

Re: Nipple incisions?? scaring???
Hi, I originally wanted the areola incision as I thought the crease one would look really obvious, but my surgeon talked me into having the crease incision. He said the implant is easier to get in the right position through the crease, and if your crease needs to be corrected it's hard to do from the areola incision. However, he admitted he had not done many areola incisions, so if you use a surgeon who is experienced with them, you should get a good result. I've seen pictures where the areola scar is almost invisible. Ask to see lots of pictures of your surgeon's work. Another downside is if your areola scars heal badly there is no way of hiding them like you could if they were tucked in the crease. katyp - I heard that you can have revision surgery done through the areola, maybe some surgeons don't though?
