red boobs? scaring? help! 8 weeks post op pics
Hi all,
I am about 8 weeks post op, I had a ba and a lift with 315cc overs, I'm not a 34DD. I am happy with the shape and size, but my boobs seem very red! I don't know if this is normal as I've looked at other peoples photos and they don't look like this! I'm worried it could be an infection or something.

Do you have any other symptoms, like hot breasts, tender to touch? x
Re: red boobs? scaring? help! 8 weeks post op pics
hi,
my boobs are hot...but they always are quite warm. I thought the redness would go, I did see my surgeon last monday and he didn't say anything...whether or not it was like it is now I can't remember...

I've never seen this before either hun, and it doesn't look like the norm. Its odd how it is all collecting at the bottom of your boob, it may be an infection or water rentention but I'm no doctor so I would make appointment to see your surgeon/GP (whoever will see you quicker) to diagnoise it
Did you take any antibiotics when you came out of hospital?

Boobieprize is right, make sure you see someone asap hun, like tomorrow morning x
Re: red boobs? scaring? help! 8 weeks post op pics
yeh I took antibiotics when I came out, I also went back to see the nurse a few weeks post op because I was worried about infection - they took a swab but it was all clear.
Ahh, it has been like this for a while - can't really afford to take a day off to go to birmingham to the HMG might see if I can see my GP, don't know if I will be able to get in for tomorrow either. Might ring HMG tomorrow and ask them about it :(

I wouldn't leave it hun, because it seems to swell around your scars which is where fluid usually builds.
Do you get any skin problems? or had surgery before?
Try to see your GP even if its just to get the all clear xx

Well at the least call them but your health should come first, if something is wrong its better if its found early, good luck let us know what they say x
Re: red boobs? scaring? help! 8 weeks post op pics
hey,
I went to see my GP this morning - I explained the situation, she looked at my breasts and bascially said that at the moment it doesn't look like and infection, as I have a lollipop scare the redness is appearing around that area. But if it does get worse to go back and see the HMG. I'm goign to ring them tomorrow I think and let them know what my GP said to me and see if I can make an appointment to see them next week just in case.

Thanks for the replies everyone I really appreciate it!!!!
Yeh slightly more response on here! - I just wanted to know what people thought and if it had happened to them.
I went to see the nurse today because I was so worried about it. She sounded concerned that my GP didn't give me anything! Might not go back to that GP in the future!!!
They gave me some antibiotics as a precaution and I have to go in on monday to see the surgeon. I am shtting myself now!!! She didn't say it was an infection, because none of my wounds are open etc...but i'm still so cared about this all now and I wish I had gone in sooner!!
I said to her that I'm getting twinges and strange feelings in my boobs but she said that it was a part of the normal healing process...
All I can think about now is this! I'll be worried about it all week :(

I have to say lovely, I don't know if it's my computer at all, but I can't really see any significant redness.
As you're 8 weeks PO it may be the tissue around the scarring healing, I know my scars are red arount them still, and I'm 5 months PO.
I'd see your surgeon Monday and see what he suggests. Try not to worry about it lovely, it's probably nothing to worry about.

thanks for the replies all!
To make matters worse I feel over yesterday kinda onto my boobs! argh! I'm ok but I was even more worried about them! lol.
I don't know if some of the redness is stretch marks...I'm still red and the antibiotics haven't (or don't seem to have had) any effect, I don't know how long they would take to kick in...Hopefully when I see the surgeon on monday he can say what it is!

Hi hun..
This all sounds quite worrying for you...glad you got some good advice and went to see your doctor and nurse. Hopefully after 3 days of being on your anti-B's you're feeling better? It won't hurt to take them even if its not an infection...try and drink plenty of fluids too!
Please can I see your pics hun? I've only seen 1 lollipop lift, and am curious...
Thanks darl..

Re: red boobs? scaring? help! 8 weeks post op pics
So I saw the surgeon today. He said that it was not an infection, and it's more likely to be my skin being irritated due to having sensitive skin - Which is what my Gp had said...I think the nurse at the HMG just refered me to the surgeon and gave me the antibiotics as a precaution.
He adviced me that is didn't have anything to do with the implant and that I should try a different bra (I'm still wearing my sports bras day and night) and to get measured as the size im wearing could be to small and might be irritating my skin.
So here's hoping my skin will go back to normal soon!
Thanks again for all the support everyone!
