underwires!!
ladies! i have heard ppl say that they have bought bras that arnt sport and taken out the wires.
is there any reason why this is so.. is it just because of the digging in the stitches or is there a medical reason why we shouldnt wear underwires b4 6 weeks. xx

Re: underwires!!
From what I have read, the underwires, keep the implant pushed up and the implant can't drop.

Re: underwires!!
I was told so they can fall into the right place and wont harm the implant and pocket area at 7 weeks I was given the ok the go buy some bar with wires! one thing we never think about is the difference in cost of the bras I went form spending 2 for $35.00 US - to one at $88.00 US-at intements that special in the bigger sizes but find they fit perfect:)

Re: underwires!!
They want to make sure the scar tissue around the implant forms correctly before you use a wired bra.And your right,it can dig into the stitches and keep the implant from dropping.

Re: underwires!!
is it a good idea to continue wearing the sports bra for as long as you can?

Re: underwires!!
i think it gets to a certain stage, for me it was at 6 weeks, where its not going to do any harm to wear underwired bras so it would soley be for comfort purposes to keep wearing a sports bra (not that anyone would want to... they're just soooo glam, not.)

Re: underwires!!
i started off with a non-underwired cotton bra first, wore it for a few weeks, just tried to get used to it, then got a cotton underwired bra and wore that for a few hours maybe 2 days a week, then when that was comfortable i got an underwired lacy one and wore that a few days a week until it was fine (at first it used to irritate my nips!) but now i feel comfortable in anything. it takes time and your body will tell you if something doesn't feel right, just experiment and take your time.
