Split Muscle Breast Augmentation
Has anyone heard of or had a split muscle breast augmentation? I'm very thin and want to avoid the fake boob look. From the little bit of reading I've done it seems as though this might be a good option.

I'd not heard of this until I just googled it. I think I'd want to do a whole lot of research about it as it sounds like a very specialised procedure.

I've just looked this up, some websites say it's just another name for partial unders. It's all very confusing - there's also 'dual plane' which may or may not be the same thing again, depending on which surgeon you ask! Xx

Re: Split Muscle Breast Augmentation
ive just had my boob job a week today i had dual plane apparently this is where the top of the implants is pushed thru the muscle so it is not visable apparently i needed this because i have a small frame and was having 410cc implants, the rest of the implant is over the muscle to give the best natural appearance hope this helps xx

Thanks for the info! I'm tall and really thin so I think this may be a good option for me. Do you have any pictures I can take a look at??

Re: Split Muscle Breast Augmentation
Hey this is what I had done, but I thought it was called a partial under? Do you mean where the top of the implant has been put under the muscle, but the bottom hasn't and it's just under the fat? Because that's what I have.
I think it's really good because I don't get that bubble look on top, its a natural slope like a real boob :) It does hurt though! I'm ok now, but just to warn you, at the beginning, its really achy!! XXX

Yes that's what I was talking about... I'm tall but really thin and I didn't want to look like I had two tennis balls planted on my chest. It's good to know about the pain.. but if it means I'll have nice boobs then I'll deal!!!

Hey amamam,
Yes, partial unders, split muscle, dual plane, they're all different words for the same thing. The only "true" total unders are generally done in breast reconstruction surgery as there is no more breast tissue left and the implant has to be put totally under the muscle.
I had them - and am so happy so far!
