Re: advice
I wore a top that went over my head straight away but it depends on how you feel and how much movement you have. I also did everything like washing my hair (I actually dyed it after 2 days) and shaving etc pretty much straight away.
I was told a kettle is ok to lift but for instance a baby is not (anything over 5lbs is too heavy in the first 3-4 weeks). I was quite careful lifting pans etc to begin with as they can be quite heavy when filled with water & veg!
I think regardless of how you feel the not lifting heavy stuff is quite important because of complications it can cause!
Hope this helps a bit xx

Re: advice
I was told something to do with hardening of the scar tissue round the implant but that may not be right. My friend had a re-op and said something about that, may not be 100% correct though. Also it can pull on your wound, even if it appears healed where the cut was it may not be inside still.

Re: advice
Thanks hun. I worry about this because of my work, I haven't told them what I'm having done, just that I'm having surgery and won't be able to do heavy lifting, they will make allowances for me, but I didn't realise it was for that length of time 3-4weeks. I have 10days booked off as I can't really afford any more sick leave. I'll probably have to go through occ health then:roll:

Re: advice
Don't take my word for it, best to ask your surgeon but I think the general advice is nothing too strenuous until 4-6 weeks depending on how you feel x
