Re: tummy bloating after ba
I had to take an OTC laxative to help me on day 2 and then I stopped the painkillers so by day 4 I was back to normal. But I'm still "puffy" all over - slowly losing the all-over-body bloat, but I'm still about 3-4 lbs heavier than normal. Water retention must be a side effect also.
My boobies are tight and have random pains shooting thru, but found the extreme swelling and tenderness was done by day 4
good luck!!!!
xx

All normal hun, it's annoying isn't it when your tummy sticks out as much as your boobs but don't worry it does get better, you'll soon be slim again. xx

Re: tummy bloating after ba
yes yes yes. i had extreme bloating and constipation. So annoying. And on top of it i had a HUMUNGOUS appetite that lasted 2 weeks :-)
Just go with it hun. Don't look at your tum. You'll have a little buddha belly for a while!
Why are you not happy with size? 375cc sounds like a great size to me!

Re: tummy bloating after ba
Hi sorry to hear your feeling down - i think its perfectly normal, and something that your not told about pre op! I too had horrendous bloating - but I think it was to do with the anti-inflammatories (diclafenic?) - once I completed my weeks course - I was fine. The swelling and tenderness subsided after 1 week too and I was back in work and driving.
But I also was a little depressed with the size and shape etc of my new boobs, but Im 5 weeks post op now and they look completely different and bigger!!! Believe everyones when they say - u just have to sit tight and wait - I genuinely thought I would wake up from op with a big pair of perfect boobs - but the reality is that just does not happen - mine were flat, square looking and too high up - but slowly they are dropping and fluffy - like everyone said they would.
Good Luck Babe x Keep us posted x

Vixen - I TOTALLY know where you're coming from - I'm on Day 6 myself and I'm in a t-shirt today and going "where are my boobies???" yesterday they looked like mountains! (I'll get an avatar up soon - so lazy!)
But I measured and am now a 36/38DD! So I can't be as small as I'm thinking. (I had 375cc too - but moderate profile - so you must look a bit bigger than me!!)
Everyone says it will pass - and when they get out of our throats and drop down where they belong, they will look lovely and fluffy!
Tash - have u tried prunes?? I ate about 20 on the 2nd day and washed it down w/ prune juice - but it worked!!!
xx

Re: tummy bloating after ba
Girls if you want to get things moving down there its all about eating the right thing. i know there are other things to be done (laxatives and loads and loads of water and walking etc) but food is a big one.
Cut out bread/cakes/any gluteny foods. Seriously. Even when everything is running smoothly for me and i eat too much bread things can stop working or seriously slow down.
I would also avoid cheese, milk, red meat as well...just for a few days. These things are mucus forming in the gut and mixed with the gluten will basically form a glue thick paste in your tummy (did you know that we are the only mammals over the age of 2 that eats dairy and that you can make glue paste from milk?) if you need carbs have porridge oats (not made with milk - or that much milk - try soya or just use water) or rice.
Anyway.....prunes are good but not the highest in fibre. They are just marketed that way - but check the fibre content - its only 6g per 100g or something.
I recommend:
My number one recommendation is just to get up in the morning and drink water, pee, drink water, pee pee pee, drink more water etc etc until it is uncomfortable. If you feel rumblings do some quats and massage your tummy. Dont eat before.
And although a little contraversial (lol) this well and truly works:
3/4 lemons juiced in a glass and knocked back in one. Do this first thing in the morning....wait 20 mins and then drink a litre of warm water.
You may feel sick if you dont like lemons or really bloated or dehydrated for a little while. Do this and see how you feel. pee when you need to. massage your tummy deeply and in a clockwise, then anti clockwise direction. if no bowel movement have some more warm water in a glass with a teaspoon of salt (sea salt preferably)...wait a while, do the massage, drink lots more warm water etc.
All this peeing and acid and salt will encourage your intestines to contract and the warm water will relax it too and avoid cramps.
I know it sounds insane but it works.
A more extreme version of this is salt water flushing where you drink about 4 litres of warm water and quite alot of salt in about 30-40mins (its so hard), you feel intensely hungover and crampy and then it ALL comes flying out. You will definitely go. Its basically a non intrusive colonic lol
Also foods that help (if the above are too extreme) are:
apples (the acid and fibre are great)
raw veg like tomatoes (mix with a little salt, olive oil and herbs or even chopped onion for a salsa type thing)
Cucumber (eat a whole one if you can!)
Garlic (the sulphur enduces detoxing - same as eggs - so this is always in detoxing diests and is the reason these things make some of us fart lol)
Spicy chilli things
People always focus on the fibre but this is more for preventative or minor constipation. if you havent gone in several days you need to get things moving and prunes or fibre drinks are just not good enough and super strong laxatives can give you awful cramps.

Re: tummy bloating after ba
and some of us are just more prone to bloating too. i felt enormous the first 10 days post BA and had water retention and everything. it was only when i started walking to work that my legs and thighs went sort of back to normal size - before this i could barely get my skinny jeans on over my calves ! xxx

Ugh I totally agree starsfade - that's why I'm so excited for my walk today, I haven't had "bathroom" issues lately, but feel just about a size bigger from all the bloating!
