Re: surgery in belgium
i know they are cheaper but you need to also weigh up the options if anything should go wrong- you would need to travel back over for revision surgery.
check its not a newly formed company that could go bust -no pun intended
i thought about going abroad but the risks put me off incase anything went wrong, its hard enough sometimes in your own country to sort things out if they go wrong but at least youd be able to walk into one of their rooms and speak face to face- with belguim it might inc costly phone calls/airplane trips.
now i dont want to put a downer on it im sure many girls have had surgery abroad and are very happy but its just something you should consider hun x

Re: surgery in belgium
I'm with Lolly I'm afraid.
Do you have a named surgeon and have you been able to check out their qualifications? Is the surgeon a fully trained Plastic surgeon?, due to the different standards in other other countries this will be very hard to know
Do you have the opportunity to have at least two consultations with your consultation before your surgery?
What aftercare are you given?
Should you suffer a complication would you be able to fund the return back to Belgian and find a hotel room?
The standards set here in the UK for our hospitals may be very different to those abroad
No surgery is risk free babe, so be sure to cover yourself should you have a complication, should you have a complication and for whatever reason and you're at the mercy of our NHS, they will not do any revision to correct the complication, they will simply remove the implant and stitch you back up, leaving you with one implant.
Here's some questions you may want to ask [urlhttp://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Treatmentabroad/Pages/Keyquestionstoask.aspx]HERE[/url]
Sorry to be so full on about this, as Lolly said there are lots of women who do have a good experience, but theres another side to this and you aren't local to get something sorted if you need to, we have a member here - ShootingStar, she went abroad and had the most horric time, after calling her surgeon, he left her with the implant hanging out of her breast. Awake, she was in so much pain and he just pulled the implant out, she has a diary on here if you'd like to read it, it's a good read for anyone thinking of having surgery abroard. xx

Re: surgery in belgium
the clinic and staff are very nice. it is located in town centre. many hotels nearby. you will have your consultation one day and your op on the next day.
i had my op at 12pm and was in my hotel by 3pm. i went with Gary Horn. he is a very nice man. after my consultation i didn't have any questions what so ever.
feel free to ask any questions xx

Re: surgery in belgium
Aftercare is really good. I saw my surgeon 1week(he took stitches out), 6weeks post op and will see him in a month for 6month post op check up. And I don't need to go to Belgium, surgeon comes to London. They do fit you with a bra, but you need to buy it from them which is €49.

Re: surgery in belgium
oh i forgot to mention that waiting list is long. i paid deposit at the end of January and i had my BA at the end of March. maybe it's different now, i don't know. or maybe it was because that i wanted my consultation to be on Thursday and my op on Friday.
